No, the answer is this will make their job much easier and safer.

Instead of approaching someone who is armed and confronting them about a potentially illegal gun, now they can just sit back and assume it is legal. What could be easier and safer than that ?

Right. I also ask why is it a big deal 8f everyone approached by a cop is carrying a gun? Last I checked, a citation stop isn't a reason to get cop suicided. Any legit gun owner leaves their tools holstered until something actually tries to kill them. I carry for defense, but I'd rather just like to keep getting lucky and not be near someone that loses it in public.

I saw this as well and it pissed me off. It’s pretty easy to tell a legal gun from an illegal gun since you still need a PERMIT. No permit and you’re a felon so not complicated at all.

Not in most of America it's not.

Out here in AZ and more than half the rest of the country, the gun doesn't make a difference. Unless you were a felon before you picked it up, you're not one with it either.

IMHO, a "man with a gun" call should be responded to with "OK, what's he doing with it ?"

If the 911 dispatchers responded to "man with a gun" calls the same way they would "man with a red hat" we would all be better off.

Except for two things:
1) They are well on track for some serious "Minority Report" style pre-crime enforcement. They want to prevent all crime, which is patently impossible unless you are willing to lock up 99% of the population.
2) They are determined to eliminate the People's ability to defend themselves FROM THEIR GOVERNMENT. Which tells me everything I need to know about their motives.

Sadly, most police seem willing to be their gestapo.
