The law that has authorized all these (illegal) surveillance methods expires soon. So of course congress is looking to renew it. In a minor miracle there are two versions of the renewal. One requires an actual warrant before surveillance can begin. Guess which one this country's "intelligence experts" favor?

For those confused. There are two bills to modify the FISA702 reauthorization in the House. (1) HR 6611 from the House Intel Committee and (2) HR 6570 from the House Judiciary Committee. The intel committee bill expands domestic surveillance authority under the modifications; the judiciary...

The deep state never gives up. In the house version of the bill to re-authorize domestic spying is a little provision that makes government surveillance even more totalitarian.

Even more outrageous is a problematic provision tucked away in this “reform” bill but not so much as mentioned in the committee’s report. Section 504 of the House Intelligence bill requires that those who have access to the “equipment that is being or may be used to transmit or store such communications” shall be treated as “electronic communication service providers” and thus subject to Section 702’s general requirement to (secretly) disclose our data to the government.

Let us unpack this: Under current law, electronic communication service providers include Internet service providers such as Google, Facebook/Meta, and Microsoft. It also includes telecom providers such as AT&T and Verizon. Under the law, these big companies are routinely compelled to hand over billions of foreign communications in addition to vast amounts of Americans’ communications that are “incidentally” caught up in this surveillance net.

But the House Intelligence bill’s expansion to include “equipment” would cover, for example, any small or medium-sized business that simply provides Wi-Fi or stores data. This means that your business landlord, Airbnb host, hotel manager, or coffee shop barista will have a legal obligation to give the government any of your emails, texts, or phone metadata that ran through their equipment. Larger entities, such as data centers, would also be enlisted in spying on Americans.

Let that sink in for a minute. Under a bill that is supposed to "reform" the current abuses is language that makes abuses far more likely.

Rat bastards.

Nothing to see here. Only an ex CIA analyst predicting the agency will deliberately interfere with the 2024 election.

Disband and defund the CIA and FBI. Pass a law that prevents any employee from getting a job in any law enforcement capacity, up to and including dog catcher.

More evidence we are in a police state. The same people that "investigated" Hillary also worked on the Mueller witch hunt and are now on Jack Smith's staff. It's nothing but a deep state lawfare group.

It's the Same People - Politico Confirms Robert Mueller Agents/Lawyers Are Jack Smith Agents/Lawyers - The Last Refuge
