Pittsburg PD goes part-time and won’t respond to non in-process calls overnight

[RedBreast21]

Wow that was fast. Went from skeletal crew 11pm-7am, to de-fund. Lets see how that works out for them. lol

[Carlos Hathcock]

This should be fun to watch....

[Robin]

It was a pretty bad place before they defunded the cops.

Let the culling begin.

[Mr. terzmo]

Appears Christmas shopping for the hoods has opened earlier than usual in Pittsburg this year

[Bigfoot]

"Pittsburgh police will no longer respond to certain calls including theft, harassment, criminal mischief, and burglary alarms. Between 3AM-7AM there will be no officers at any police stations."

Would something like that affect the insurance rates of the businesses in the area?

[MothMan]

Do you think we could get a Venezuelan Tik Tok influencer to announce this on their channel?

[Dr. Evil]

Between 3AM-7AM there will be no officers at any police stations.

Gee... I wonder what time of the day you will see an increase in crime. Why not advertise your ATM code while you're at it?

[Bigfoot]

It seems to me that if something like this has to be done. The hours between 3am and 7am is the worst time to do it. It reminds me of the saying, nothing good happens after 2am.

[Zerex]

Seems there is another thread about this situation.
Pittsburgh City can take care of itself and is doing so by this legal genocide.

Suburbs are another situation entirely.

[Saltwater60]

They don’t really defund them per se it’s more like things that they don’t feel is important they won’t respond to at night because they don’t have the manpower. This will get worse and why would anyone want to be a cop these days.
Also there’s already a thread on this.

I’m not sure what they are thinking. Harassment and criminal mischief calls can escalate quickly. This won’t end well https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/pittsburgh-police-force-goes-part-time/?utm_source=Mscarpena%40msn.com&utm_campaign=64

I thought about this and notice that they say "at police stations"? I take that to mean that all the desk cops that normally would be sitting at a desk and now will be cruising the streets in a car. Or I could be wrong and they just don't have the manpower, if that's the case the people are screwed!

[Parzival]

We are getting closer and closer to Purge being a reality.

So, no manpower for burglary, but I bet they still have people issuing parking and traffic tickets full time.

So, when you see where the priorities are, why wouldn't you want them defunded.

[dwa12479]

So there will be a 4 hour Purge in Pittsburgh every evening. Good to know.

[tirwin1]

Festival!!!!

[2WheelGnnr]

The "Purge" every night..........

Marge cities generally have different people arresting and doing parking tickets.

Yes, that's my point. They can afford the meter maids, but not the cops that go after real crime.

Their priorities are precisely backwards.

State and local governments shouldn't be allowed to keep money from fines. They should have to turn it over to the federal Department of the Treasury.

A fine is acceptable as a punishment, but it should not be a revenue source.

[Acer-m14]

going to be like LA in cali ..

Walgreens looted police show up 4 hours later

I wonder if they have specific drop-off points for the burglar's body. Most people wouldn't want that festering in their home for hours before a cop can show up to clean up the mess.

I think you just put them out by the curb with the trash.

If the burglers were the least bit considerate, they would wait for trash day to rob you..

[Zerex]

Stores, are simply like salt licks.................. to plains game in Africa.

[Willyone]

Yep. Rats gotta eat too.

[fresch]

So good to go gun shopping at the cop shop between 3-7am?
