So there's a published report by a "reputable" (trying not to laugh) news outlet. In said article she admits (confesses) to a gun felony. No charges filed. No consequences. Nothing.

This was not an instance that no one outside the circle of trust knew about. It's out there in the open. No charges from that fat piece of shit attorney general (aka Queen of the Golden Corral) announcing intentions to prosecute. She (and I use that term loosely) should be REMOVED FROM OFFICE. One CANNOT own, buy, sell, trade, inherit or otherwise possess a Handgun in NYS without a very difficult (damn near impossible in NYC) to obtain Handgun Licenses, period. no reciprocity, no other States, even LEOSA has to tread carefully, it's a Felony to have a handgun without, and magazines over ten rounds are a violent felony charge... you can bet there was some sort of backdoor deal, 'course with a face like hers, I'll be she's used to the "back door".

I understand the point you're making about the "law," so I'm not trying to bust your chops.

But it is not hard to "own, buy, sell, trade, inherit or otherwise possess" without a permit, even in the most draconian States that heavily Infringe on the RKBA, including NY.

The permitting schemes do not stop "gun crime" (including "illegally" or "criminally... .owning or buying or selling or trading" guns).

Clearly in this E Gene Carrol case that certainly entails her obtaining and keeping a weapon without a permit, NY is making it clear that certain people can flaunt the law, just like they do for the criminal gangs who make their pay offs on time and follow orders.

NY is breaking its own law in this case.

People absolutely CAN and DO get guns and use them without following the "rules" or paying a bit of attention or giving a shit about the crooked "laws" that jam up some of the ones that get caught doing so. NY even admits this on a regular basis when the political whores in Albany caterwaul about the "Iron Pipeline" that is causing a flood of "illegal" guns to "flood our streets."

The heart of the matter is whether we "may" Keep and Bear, and that is very clear in the US Constitution and its "history, text and tradition."

Like many, many things, government cannot effectively interdict or otherwise stop the flow of small arms in the United States. Every "illegal" gun taken of the streets isn't even a drop in the bucket compared to the VAST number of "legal" and "illegal" guns being bought and sold and traded every day in the United States without a Permission Slip. Even ff they did a VERY hard clamp down like they did on booze during Prohibition, the "illegal trade in small arms would BOOM to epic proportions, far beyond what it is now. It would drive the desire to have guns and ammo as much as people had the desire to get "illegal" booze, even if that meant breaking the "law" to get what they want. The "elicit" trade in Arms would flourish beyond our wildest imagination.

This is why its my opinion that all of us in NY who support and defend the sentiments and laws in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution need to stop focusing on all of the laws passed against the Right of the People to Keep & Bear.

Knowing the "law" and following it is utterly meaningless at this point in our nation's history, because it has clearly become ad hoc at best and capricious at worst.

There is no law, because the "authorities" weaponize it when they feel like it, and go ahead and break it themselves when its convenient and suits their political purposes.

The organized criminals, the gangs, the street thugs, none of them care about gun laws at all, and if they have the money, they can get whatever the want in terms of small arms (and more).

The cops don't care about the laws either. They will arrest otherwise lawful US citizens for Keeping or Bearing, knowing that the RKBA is the law of the land, and that many of the laws against it are bunk, while going right ahead and making an arrest based on type of gun, magazines size, accessories, and so on.

E Gene Caroll has every right to have a gun, in her home or on her person while out in public, with only very narrow circumstances where that would not be the case (courtrooms, for example). Maybe she wanted it because she was afraid Trump would "rape" her again, lol.

Regardless, its my humble opinion that we ought to stop being infuriated at the hypocrisy, do what we need to do, and organize ourselves against the lawless Tyranny that is ravaging our nation.

Its fine to be mad as hell about this kind of stuff. I am.

Its fine to point out the law and how its applied wrongly and unequally.

But when do we channel that anger to make strides to stop the Tyranny?

Bitching about evil is perfectly valid, as it can (and should) lead to results to put a stop to it; but its a useless exercise if we do nothing about it.
