Property Tax is where the big money is at; Politicians use it to buy votes from those that pay little to none, and to make their wealthy friends even richer with "Projects" they sold to Commissioners...Anyways, you're right; even if your Property is paid for in full, it's still subservient to the Government that WILL seize it at the Barrel of a Gun if you fail to pay the Rent they levy...In a Republican State you might be able to repeal Property Taxes, but there's zero chance with Democrats as that's then money they use to maintain Power and Control.Doesn't matter, 15 year mortgage or 50, you're still just renting it from the government, even *after* you pay it off.
