Doesn't matter, 15 year mortgage or 50, you're still just renting it from the government, even *after* you pay it off.

Anyone bitching about 50 year mortgages who isn't also calling for abolishing property tax is just a hypocrit.

Those taxes were one of the reasons we left NYS. I showed my wife that even after we paid off our mortgage we would still need to se aside half our normal "mortgage payment" every month just to cover taxes and insurance.

Property Tax is where the big money is at; Politicians use it to buy votes from those that pay little to none, and to make their wealthy friends even richer with "Projects" they sold to Commissioners...Anyways, you're right; even if your Property is paid for in full, it's still subservient to the Government that WILL seize it at the Barrel of a Gun if you fail to pay the Rent they levy...In a Republican State you might be able to repeal Property Taxes, but there's zero chance with Democrats as that's then money they use to maintain Power and Control.

WTF is wrong with people? I guess I shouldn't be surprised given what I see on Facebook but this is ridiculous. Some people need to get a life.
