While Blakeman is pushing a highly visible campaign centered on lowering taxes and reducing crime, the structural realities of New York’s electorate make him an underdog.
His prospects are defined by the following factors:
- Polling and Margins: Recent public surveys, including a Siena College Poll, show Governor Hochul leading Blakeman. However, the race has seen volatility, with Hochul’s favorability dipping and some internal GOP polls indicating a tighter single-digit race, giving Republicans a theoretical path to an upset.
- Historical Context: Republicans have an energized base following the close gubernatorial race in 2022, but they face an uphill battle in a state where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than 2-to-1.
- Candidate Positioning: Blakeman, the Nassau County Executive, is working to appeal to moderate and independent voters. His campaign emphasizes fiscal issues and economic development to draw votes away from the Democratic ticket.

I just want to see Hochul lose. It would be epic.

If Hochul the Horrible were to lose the election. That day should officially become a state holiday.
I said this at the end of Cuomo....
Be careful what you wish for. The devil you don't know might be worse.
I have 0 confidence in NY voters and our political system to make any improvements.

We are absolutely making plans to sell everything off and move out of NYS but that's going to take a year or more; the only chance of a change in plans will be Republicans taking control of the Governor's Office and Legislature, so in other words we're proceeding full steam ahead.

NYC will re-install Hochul with ease.

Yup. Never thought I'd miss the good ol' days when we just had to deal with Cuomo.
Untill she is no longer a convenient pawn for them and they will find a way to retire her and replace her with an even more extreme version.
Can we just go back to the blind guy already? It's bad when our best recent governor has been a blind guy.

Getting rid of this woketard governor only works if the NY legislature and NY senate are taken back. A new pro-gun AG would help too. A downstate republican governor is as useless as tits on a boar hog. They have no clue or respect for upstate culture.

That’s because the republicans do not govern him any money. The party doesn’t spend money in NYS. That’s the problem.

I say we Republicans win this one. Even a blind man must be sick of looking at horse face for another four years.
you’d have better chance of winning the lottery than to see a republican governor win

We'll see how many NYC voters turn against the new socialist marriage between mayor and governor. People with money are out, business owners are out, property owners are out, tax payers are out, then there all the people who hate her North of the city.
Well that’s the problem… a lot of conservatives are leaking the state.
The people in the city are loving their new mayor, sadly.

The love of Mandami will end, but I’m not sure it will end before November.
I think the love of Mandummy ended the day after he took control.

For my wife an i, it won`t matter who wins, because they will never get this sinking ship above water again in NYS before we both die. My wife an i are still packin it up and gettin the fuck out of this shithole state to where we can breathe freedom again before we`re dead and gone.
We haven't seen ads for either, but we're the North Country and nobody downstate gives a shit about us (unless they're on vacation or need a solar farm)

I have not either. Just Facebook crap.
We've agreed in principle to move, but Business is very good for our Son, and the Farm I tried to buy three years ago (owners backed out) is ostensibly about to be for sale again...Life never seem to work out the way WE plan. For my wife an i, it won`t matter who wins, because they will never get this sinking ship above water again in NYS before we both die. I’m in PA and I’m still seeing nonstop ads for Hochul and Micah Lasher. Gotta pull those non resident votes!
