Ridiculous or Not - SOCOM 458 (30 rounder)

[Drinkthekoolaid]

Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things

[Catskillkid]

Looks like it wants to be a Thompson submachine gun. Very ridiculous looking. But I wouldn't kick it out of bed either if you know what I mean.

[tgenec86]

My first thought was - its massive and would get in the way of almost anything... One nay, one against. Lots of firepower if you can mostly stand still though, it's gotta' count for something there.

[Cooolone]

Love it!!! Lol

[holdover]

For when you mean business.

[kev74]

If I needed that much ammo and didn't need to move, it would be awesome!

[RooftopKorean]

I have a 458 SOCOM AR in PA. I can't imagine ever using a drum on it, haha.

[FP1201]

I wonder how one of the big three (.458socom, 12.7x42, .450BM) would be running FA, hell even burst?

[Saltwater60]

Agree. The weight of that thing would put you off balance horribly. I like it though.

[Robin]

It comes with a six month membership at Golds Gym.

I have fired M1 Thompsons at the Keystone indoor Range, outside of Pittsburgh...........

Heavy for sure...............does eat up the ammo....... that drum must weigh 25 lbs.

Aluminum versions of the Thompson were designed, but the war ended...............no reason why aluminum should not have been used in the fist place, but Gen Thompson/Colt did not have access to the alloy back then.

[camper4lyfe]

This screams for a helicopter and a bunch of feral hogs.

[Zerex]

458 So Com eats a lot of powder...................not a 45 ACP at all......................5 gr ACP vs 40 gr SoCom.

Hard hitting load

[Cooolone]

Wouldn't a belt be better?

Asking for a friend, lol

Also launches a heavier bullet better than twice as fast...about a hundred to hundred and fifty feet per second faster than the .450 Bushmaster.

[Podmonkey]

Bullet weights for .458 SOCOM get as high as 600gr. Basically it's a 45-70 in an AR. My question is who the hell can afford to load up a drum full of the stuff these days?! And that type drum is both expensive and fragile, drop one loaded onto hard ground and it will break. Don't ask me how I know.

Probably like those Saiga-12s people put AK full auto fire control groups in.

Nothing like dumping a 20 round mag of 12ga 00 in 2 seconds...

[Celt]

Practical or not it would be fun for as long as your wallet can support it.

[IrishMick]

Totally Ridiculous! Now I want it! 'Murica!

[RooftopKorean]

That with a brace and 7" upper would be nuts.

You couldn't imagine it.

Now you're imagining it!
