Here's the thing...
If Trump DOESN'T nominate, I will see it as a political ploy to try to garner votes. I'm tired of these political games.

I want to see a nomination before the end of this coming week.

Then McConnell needs to fast-track the vote.

This will actually HELP Trump, since it will clearly demonstrate the lengths the Democrats will go toward rigging the election. They will want Biden in there so they can "pack the Court".
And such attempts to cheat the election and, if they steal it, pack the Court will be further evidence of the breakdown of Society.

At that point... Civil War. It will push the otherwise law-abiding Conservatives over the edge.

Trump has been fucked over by the left so much.... He sould announce his pick before she is planted .

Awwwwww, isn't that cute...

Where the fuck is this assholes head buried? The country has been shut down with the exception of Republicans trying to get things going! His statement is moronic!

But this is all expected, vote, don't vote... Doesn't matter. Results are contrary to what the progressive liberals want, they will protest, stomp their feet, hold their breath till blue because it's their nature! Just like their attempts to change the electoral college because it didn't work out for them last election... Boo hoo hoo... Can only imagine the amount of bedlem coming when Trump wins!

Markey threatens to pack Supreme Court, abolish filibuster if Trump fills seat
Nine justices have served on the nation's highest court since 1869
A leading Democrat in the U.S. Senate came out in support of "packing" the U.S. Supreme Court and eliminating the Senate filibuster if Majority Leader Mitch McConnell works to confirm a potential nominee to fill the seat left by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Washington Post blogger Greg Sargent agreed, saying that Senate Democrats would have "no choice but to nuke the [legislative] filibuster and try to pack the court."

"Not doing this won't be an option," he tweeted.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has been cagey when pressed about Democratic plans for the filibuster should his party secure a net gain of four seats and flip Senate control.

So if he doesn't fill it they pinky promise not to pack it anyway? Yeah, right. They will do whatever they can. It's time we started doing the same.

One thing is for sure: if you want a fair fight but the other side plays dirty you better catch up on the rules real quick or else you'll lose. In this case, there is nothing whatsoever unprecedented about a president nominating a justice and the senate confirming. The fact it's an election year is really irrelevant. THe biden rule was always a joke, and everybody knew it.

Obama Statement on Ginsburg Demands GOP Senate Honors Her Dying ‘Instructions’ and Put Off Vote on Supreme Court Nominee Until New President Sworn In
Former President Barack Obama issued a statement late Friday night on the passing of Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The statement was posted to the online site Medium.

In the statement, Obama demanded the Republican controlled Senate not vote on any replacement for Ginsburg until a new president is sworn following the November presidential election. Obama cited his failed 2016 nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to back up his support for Ginsburg’s reported dying “instructions” that her replacement be nominated by a new president (“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”)

Four and a half years ago, when Republicans refused to hold a hearing or an up-or-down vote on Merrick Garland, they invented the principle that the Senate shouldn’t fill an open seat on the Supreme Court before a new president was sworn in.

A basic principle of the law — and of everyday fairness — is that we apply rules with consistency, and not based on what’s convenient or advantageous in the moment. The rule of law, the legitimacy of our courts, the fundamental workings of our democracy all depend on that basic principle. As votes are already being cast in this election, Republican Senators are now called to apply that standard. The questions before the Court now and in the coming years — with decisions that will determine whether or not our economy is fair, our society is just, women are treated equally, our planet survives, and our democracy endures — are too consequential to future generations for courts to be filled through anything less than an unimpeachable process.

Fuck fairness. Fight to win. And, BHO is not in charge anymore. Nothing he says matters.

But isn't that because the republicans humored them?

I can't find out how quickly the senate actually CAN get this done if they are truly motivated to do it within, say, 30 days.

They should be able to get it done by Monday. Why does this need to take months?

The President has to nominate someone for appointment. The Senate has to confirm the nomination.

There is no reason this process has to take 3 months. If McConnell can do his job and get this on the floor for a vote in a timely fashion -without all the nonsense and foot-dragging he permitted during Gorsuch and Kavanaugh's hearings, our biggest concern will be the flood of liberal tears that will follow.

If Mitch can whip the votes don’t need no stinking Dems.

70 days has been the typical vetting before the vote! There's 40 between now and election(?)... So it would be unprecedented to get it done! Add to it the Covid hysteria and limitations... I think it's doubtful!

But that said, it doesn't mean it can't be used... Good or bad, it was a very prominent tool smoldering just under the surface in the 16' election to those of us voters who understood the gravity of the election beyond the surface glimmer and glitz!

Will we see black smoke from the Senate chambers for a non vote or will the three RINO's fulfill their constitutional duty and vote, releasing the white smoke of purity signifying a new saint (representing gender non specific) has taken a seat at the right hand of the demigod roberts.
