One thing I genuinely learned from the whole covid thing.... During an actual emergency people will lose their minds.

Imagine a pandemic that has an actual 20% morbidity rate 1 out of every 5 people who get it will die.

People will lose their minds. Crazy things will happen.

The problem with 20% of the population dying from a disease is there will be 60% of the population dying from starvation, exposure, crime, accidents, and otherwise treatable diseases.

I would buy a nice drone with thermal camera, starlink, a hand pump for the well, wood stove, IBC tote of gas, 6 rabbits, 2 goats, a pallet of chicken feed, some additional medical supplies, and a couple pounds of curing salt. I'd probably spend the 3 months burying a shipping container, servicing vehicles and equipment, and organizing supplies. We'd be staying home for this one unless future self advised otherwise.

I am looking into the shipping container thing right now.

I have a few calls out for sizes and prices.

Looks like the container part will be the cheaper costs in this project, the digging a hole is quite pricey...

Long term, a buried container wouldn't be ideal, but it works fine in the "I need a place to hide out for under $10k in 3 months" scenario.

Did future GOPerfect warn you something big is coming? If so, I'm gonna start digging.

Meant to reply yesterday...

No, my future me did not pay me a visit, however, I get these dreams at times.

I had a dream a couple weeks back, as real as real could be that told me to stop hoarding so much cash and purchase things that I am lacking.

When I told my misses about the dream, she sat down with me and we begin to make some lists of things that we need.

We have spent about 3k in the past 2 weeks on stuff that we think we may need.

Ya'll can laugh, but these dreams, I think they may be some sort of a message.

I predict things at times that I cannot explain.

Instead of dreams, I get a random bug up my ass for no good reason. The universe feels out of balance.

Today I bought a $650 meat grinder, last week a smoker, and this weekend I started prepping the dingy block room in the basement to become a comfy storm shelter. Also started buying more woodworking tools/equipment.

I'm halfway through this disgusting creature from jekyll Island book, and money feels more worthless than ever. Plus, we are nearing the end of the 4th turning, but I don't think we have seen the worst of it yet. Early next year will likely be the official onset of stagflation, and then we will need a great war to recover from it.

Maybe the bug up my ass isn't so random.

Never go against your intuition and subconscious. It's been helping keep us alive so it would be foolish to ignore it. You are wise And blessed to have the awareness to understand the world around you and the clarity and conviction to act on it.

We're our own worst enemy for ignoring that "little voice inside telling you" something...I've told my Sons from day one to LISTEN to it, it'll never be wrong! Call it intuition, subconscious, spirit guide, whatever you want so long as you pay attention.

No sarcasm....

This was ingrained to me in the 80's, watching Magnum PI!
