"A check of the vehicle revealed a “MAC-10” style submachine gun with an extended magazine on the back seat. That weapon and the Ruger handgun recovered in Mount Vernon, were later determined to be stolen."

So the guns weren't on the suspect's pistol permit?

From the description it sounds like some really good police work in terms of chasing down the missing guy.

As far as systematic license plate surveillance being used to find these guys in the first place, I am not a fan of that.
