Okay, I just looked this up. Seems like this practice of forced eating began as early as 2500 BC with the Egyptians. The practice still occurs in modern times.

Again, not really my thing, I have never eaten liver, any type, nor do I have plans to start.

They are just Ducks and Geese, me, I do not care what farmers do to them. If there is a market for this liver crap and it keeps people in business; I say force feed all you want.

I thought we chopped off the head so it was a clean cut.

I get what you are saying.... If it were up to some, we would not have veal either.

I get the respect thing, bit sometimes it does not fit into our needs or wants.

Geese and Ducks will do it themselves if they can.

But we do the quick and humane thing for multiple reasons.

One being- it's the right thing to do.

Another being that the more adrenaline an animal dumps while dying, the less tasty the meat, to put it in unscientific terms.

I'm pretty sure there are some lonely trees that need hugging somewhere . If you hunt you eat what you kill.If you farm you eat what you grow. The huggers act like the livers are the only thing harvested ever eat roast duck a bit greasy but good.My kids grew up eating duck eggs they are fantastic . Geese are vile animals viscous honking birds with bad attitudes .If I'm gonna feed them the I'm gonna eat them their not pets their food liver and all.

my dad always cooked beef liver and i hated it .. yukkk ... i was like 12-14 and at a friends house .. want to stay for dinner .. sure .. call mom/dad .. gunna stay here for dinner .. ok ..

whats for dinner ... liver . ohh FK .. i really messed up now ..

but i tried it .. omg it was the bomb .. nothing like what dad cooked .. sorry dad .. lol .. no idea how my friends mom cooked it ,, but i cleaned up the plate ..

but still won't eat liver till this day .. cept chicken liver n hearts if i find them at the store ..

years ago when i was a pre to teen .. fire dept would have clam bakes .. the one here had gallon glass jars of pickled beef heart and tongue omg i love that stuff .. i wish it was still around ..
