What would the kids lawyer even request ? It's not like you can just release the kid to his own devices while the parents get sent back.
And we absolutely *can't* allow the "anchor baby" to remain in effect. Mom doesn't have a "get out of deportation free" card just because she dropped some crotch fruit on this side of the border.

The liberal DC Circuit Court of Appeals handed President Trump a massive win on Saturday after a district court judge ordered him to rehire staff from far-left Voice of America that will have impacts lasting beyond just this one case, according to a legal expert.US District Judge Royce Lamberth, a Reagan appointee, said Voice of America is funded by Congress and Trump’s cuts to the agency are “a direct affront to the power of the legislative branch.”
The DC Court of Appeals entered a stay of Lamberth’s injunction and suspended the first-instance decision, blocking the order that allowed them to return to work.
Legal Professor Margot Cleveland analyzed the decision and explained in detail why this ruling will have widespread implications.
“The Court of Appeals decision is based on fundamental issue of “jurisdiction,” she explained. “This conclusion should have wide-spread ramifications because many of challenges to Trump Administration are about employment decisions which CONGRESS said are NOT for district courts to decide.”
The constitution differs. All US citizens have a right to remain in the country, barring extradition for a crime, even then it goes through courts. Your parent not being a US citizen isn't YOUR crime, and no citizen is responsible for others crimes, just your own.
The mother needs to go either way. She's not a citizen. A US citizen who has committed no crimes has a right to be here. If she chooses to take the child with her, that should be her choice. If she chooses not to then we move on to other routes, that doesn't mean we deport a legal US citizen.
Whay do we do with them? The same thing we do for other US citizen minors who no longer have guardians (say both parents die in a car crash or similar). Namely a new guardian must be appointed, either by court order or through existing legal arrangements. If there is no established legal framework, the court will appoint a suitable relative or, if necessary, place the child in foster care.

How many mothers do you know who would choose to give the kid up to the state under those circumstances ?
The kid has citizenship, he can come back whenever he wants.
If it was you in that situation, wouldn't you choose to keep *your* kid with you ?

Agreed. It’s a slippery slope and it will land on our doorstep one day one way or another. Trump did this so we can just take all your guns or lock you in a reeducation camp because you voted for Trump. Due process and the constitution are important pillars of the American society and hanging on by a razors edge not because of Trump or this specifically but it’s another layer.
I will add I heard the one mom requested the kid stay and one with her so then that’s ok with me. I don’t think an anchor baby should be grounds to keep you here. Could it be a factor in being able to stay here sure but it shouldn’t automatic especially if you’re a criminal.

Here's where we dont hate the main stream media enough though. A woman with a young child is being rightfully deported. The you child is a birthright US citizen. One of two things happen. The child either stays with Mom and leaves the US, or the child stays here.
The headlines will be:
A) 4 year old legal US citizen cancer patient deported by the Trump Administration.
B) Families are being torn apart as Trump administration deports an immigrant mother, leaving her 4 year old cancer stricken child alone.
This despite the fact that the same procedures are being followed as used by every other US Presidnt. The child staying with Mom IS NOT a deportation of the child.
