So the best way to incentivize farmers to invest in building herds is to crash the prices of beef?

Doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Maybe they should have spanked the blue states that try to restrict herds due to "cow farts" instead.

A wise member of this forum clearly explained to me that Beef prices are up because the US herd population is the lowest since the Vietnam war. This current shortage was from the Biden administration period of poor drought management, soaring feed costs, and new regulatory burdens raising operating costs that forced nearly all AMERICAN ranchers to drastically cull herds which takes breeding cycles over years to repopulate and fatten to maket weight in order to reverse.

So Trump took advise from the Dept of Agriculture to provide incentives to AMERICAN farmers to rebuild herds and announce a 90-day deal allowing up to 300,000 metric tons of ground beef into the U.S. with no out-of-quota tariffs and a commitment to sell it 25% BELOW current market prices TO GIVE WORKING FAMILIES some relief at the grocery store NOW.

This is a temporary increase in supply to help lower the market price of one of the most expensive WORKING FAMILY grocery staples (ground beef) without permanently undercutting U.S. cattle producers. Sure seems like a practical solution when facts are reviewed instead of just internet clickbait headlines.

The brilliant part is that they only have so much performative outrage to bring to bear.

Everyone out protesting the lake rename will be busy so they can't protest something actually important that day.

Plus, it desensitized people to the protests. A sea of blue hair and protest signs eventually just blend into the background like the pigeons and you stop even noticing them.
