Things are heating up in Taiwan

This is undoubtedly related:
Apparently drone-swarm harassment / overflight of U.S. military assets and bases in the United States has been going on for years. A site called the War Zone has a whole category on it.
I expect things to get rather sporty between the election and inauguration. On multiple fronts.

Drones are changing warfare the same way the tank airplane machine gun did. I think we are behind on drone doctrine. Big and expensive isn't the way to go . Can you imagine a B52 dropping a few thousand drones near the front lines? or submarines launching them only a mile or so from the coast or up river? or several dozen on a cruise missile? or fishing trawler? Duce and a half? holy shit .
You get it.
But for others who haven't thought of some of this
Think even farther outside the box. Gray zone warfare.
Launch a "Drone Pearl harbor" on our fleet or air force
Drone swarms out of shipping containers think a club k but swarms of drones
Drone attack on pipelines, refinery, ports, airports, power plants, dams, or critical infrastructure,
Etc
Anyone with any bit of creativity could think of this. look at what A few assholes with box cutters did.
We need to be prepared to expect threats from outside the box thinking.

How many small drones have been sold to civilians in the United States in the past 3 years?
Can you build them from kits?

Nothing to see here. Just president xi claiming no one can stop reunification.

Will they actually move before Trump is inaugurated? Our government is currently on autopilot with that senile fool biden. Probably the best time to make a move.
Xi Jinping says no one can stop China’s ‘reunification’ with Taiwan
The Chinese President put out a clear warning to pro-independence forces in his New Year message. Read more at straitstimes.com.

And Taiwan Semi-conductor is there. The LARGEST chip maker on the planet. NO ONE wants China to be in charge of 80% of chip manufacturing on the planet
It's kinda like... Don't listen to what we say, listen to what we do.
Here's how you know Taiwan conflict is very real threat.
The largest semi conductor plant in the world is being built in Arizona.
There are multiple other huge size and scope semiconductor projects occurring in the US.
Losing Taiwan needs to be planned for.

Let's hope they're wrong.
They're not building a bigger navy that is for no reason.
They're not rush building a fleet of invasion barges to sell girl scout cookies.
It's going to happen and likely some point sooner than we expect.
Xi has already made this his legacy. He can't walk it back and save face. He already committed to it.
Tick Tock. China is using a "seismic research vessel" to map out the underwater geography around Taiwan. For "research" purposes.
China is trying to colonize in Panama....they gain any sort of control over the Canal and we're Royally Fucked.
Taiwan is going to be another Asian shit-show if the US gets dragged into it...Treaties, NATO, UN, all have us aligned, but this is one the real experts had damn well better be consulted with and arriving at a consensus BEFORE we start sending Troops...Iraq was the beginning and over twenty years later we're fucked over in Afghanistan: there are lessons to be learned.

The problem is I think very rapidly China can forcefully isolate and blockade Taiwan if the US does not get involved very early. So early intervention would be critical. Delay would compound the difficulty of intervention.
It's going to be a complete shit show. China isn't going to just let us sink their ships, shoot down their planes and kill their soldiers. They will shoot back and likely preemptively at many US facilities. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they take down our grid in the process and attack soft infrastructure targets in gray zone warfare. If Taiwan leads to open hostility we're going to feel it here.
Don't forget about all the military aged invaders that already here due to the xiden regimes lack of a border.
Look up Chinese hacking program "volt Typhoon"
And in addition to volt Typhoon just recently apparently it has been discovered that nearly all Chinese made solar inverters are maliciously compromised. https://www.reuters.com/sustainabil...n-devices-found-chinese-inverters-2025-05-14/
It's going to be a friggin mess.
They've been embedding code, transmitters, and all sorts of "hacking/spying" technology for decades...the US Military and Government Agencies have known about it for as long.
Those cheap-ass camera's that you can tie into your Smart Phone? Yea, it's in there too along with hidden cameras and microphones in damn near everything electronic, certainly stuff you interact with or watch.
Chinese invasion of Taiwan ‘imminent,’ warns US
Beijing ‘credibly preparing’ to upend ‘balance of power’ in Indo-Pacific, claims Pete Hegseth

When SecDef and the DoD is publicly speaking out claiming the Intel is there China is potentially getting ready for invasion you should perk up.
This sounds like the run up to Russia launching initial offensive into Ukraine.

Could have stopped the whole Ukraine debacle without firing a shot with just a couple thousand troops on their eastern border to play in the mud.
I said this before, China has to at bare minimum be having discussions if this presents an opportunity for them to exploit.
We are clearly stretching and shifting our resources away from asia and to the middle east. We are rapidly using interceptor missiles. Our actions in Iran and Venezuela are affecting China negatively.
They have to genuinely be at minimum considering of this is maybe an opportunity of necessity to act and an opportunity to do so. We might be applying so much pressure to the Chinese economy they feel backed into a corner that they are forced to do something to alleviate it and knowing that we are focused on the middle east again they may not have as "open" of an opportunity in the next 5 years as they have right now.
Just food for thought
Trump with his actions has certainly upset the world order (for good or bad). If he assumes the Chinese and/or Russians will do nothing in response that may be a miscalculation on his part.
Well with Russia not working out if true like we hear, rocket boy itching to be a player, the drug cartels (fast n fury) watching, Chinas silk road not so silky, the turd world moving on all western countries, the other western countries can't defend themselves let alone help, we get the only thing left if China makes a move; guess what that is? A nuke them all before they can nuke us.

we do have allies in the region. South Korea and Japan have, recently, conducted joint naval operations.
Both countries have said they would stand with America.
China has to be careful, their supply of oil has been severely restricted. They 'may' not have to oil or fuel for a sustained attack on Taiwan. Plus we just gave Taiwan patriot missile batteries.
China maybe rattling their saber, but right now, Im hoping they don't have to fuel to sustain an offensive

Sounds like we setup an unofficial quasi pre ww2 Japanese oil embargo in China b

That's possible, and I think they would have taken the opportunity if it wasn't for the fact that we utterly dismantled the entire conventional military ability of the Iranian regime in about 2 days.
Pretty sure that scared Xi shitless.
As much as Desert Storm was a one sided ass whooping that made the Russian and Chinese generals shit their pants, this was a lot more so.
Combined with Venezuela, it demonstrates just how far ahead the US is militarily that anyone else on the planet.
