I am not a huge fan of these National Emergency's. Some of the ones passed over the course of the past 40years ago or so, IMO, have been good for the Country. Some, not so good.
This is not in violation of the Constitution, it is not in violation of the rules of our Country. This is much smaller than many in the past. I do not believe that Trump's decision is going to make this policy worse for future times. Many are saying that we should not go down this rabbit hole? Read history. This is not a new thing, since the 1970's, dozens of these orders have been signed; hell, we are living under 31 of them right now.

people do not listen to the problems their fellow neighbors have?
All that we have to do is to walk in someones shoes, listen a bit more, try to understand, but no, instead we join the tribes and polarize.
That is how we ended up all broken apart.
And the politicians and establishment are no fools. They see the tribalism and the opportunities and they feast on the ignorance
of the average folks. The more ignorant those voters are, the better.
And I am not talking about academic ignorance but a more deeper and profound type of ignorance that yields a type of person
that is not very civilized, is short-sighted and is unable to formulate his/her own opinions on issues that otherwise are going
to be very important for the future.
Modern constituents are managed with marketing campaigns that are designed to prostitute their votes in exchange for promises that can never
be fulfilled but look good on TV and facebook.
It all sounds great, it is just all a big fabrication that is totally unrealistic and unsustainable.
Career politicians have only one goal, more popularity that means more money and more power.
So the cycle continues.
The average Joe and middle working class need another wall to insulate them from this system of lies, high taxes, uncontrolled spending, corruption
and lack of accountability.
Maybe Trump himself is our actual wall?

Well said. This is not as dramatic as some are making it out to seem. This is SOP for our government, and it is not in violation of the Constitution like some of the laws that these crooked politicians pass.
Trump making this move will help secure his re-election in 2020. If he lost out on the wall I fear we would end up having a Democrat running this country in 2020. This will keep his base energized while keepng and gaining support in 2020.

SCOTUS already steps out of its intended role and plays politics rather than reading the constitution in its most permissive sense. So it’s not like other branches of gov don’t circumvent the intent of the branch.
