Wish they had shown the complainant, the cop, the DA, and even the judge. Some how putting a face to stupid makes a thing clearer. Someone should go to jail for this, and not the ten year olds.

It says they were imagining the cars were tanks. You know - make believe.
My argument was the driver couldn't have been that terrified or he wouldn't have slammed the brakes on, backed up and then gotten out of his car. If you think someone pointed a gun at you that is the opposite of what you are going to do.

damn, Im glad this shit wasn't around when I was 10. I was a hell raiser. we shot Estes Rockets at passing trucks from ( I would guess) was 2000 ft.
Never even came close to hitting anything, other than some trees. Snow balls at schools buses and passing cars.
We played cowboys and Indians, with bows and arrows with rubber tips, and cap guns. We play "D-day" with sling-shots, and pebbles/stones.
we had "war games" with the entire neighborhood, 40 or 50 kids, running around in a big field with plastic straws and navy beans, shooting spit-beans at each other.
We played Jarts and you would have to catch the jart before it hit the ground/Target, a few kids ended up with small holes in a foot or arm. we always thought that shit was hilarious.

As soon as it was found out fake and broken toy guns were used, it should have ended. Talk to the kids and inform them that their decisions may not have been the best to chose.

It's sad that this is what we have become. What would happen if police did this 50 yrs ago. Guarantee those cops, the judge and the da would be looking for a new job.....or worse. Almost a guarantee. Also just imagine if the 2 boys had said that they identified as gay females and were pretending to fight off male oppressors lead by Donald Trump. The correct course of action for a 6yr old never involves law enforcement.
The correct course of action is for the principal to paddle her ass.
If you run an elementary school, and you think you need to call the cops to handle your kids, you are not competent to do the job and the school board needs to find someone who is.
Now, I realize that principals can't paddle a kids ass anymore, and that insanity leads directly to this insanity (and worse).
Still, if you're the police dispatcher and someone calls for you to arrest a 6yr old, the correct answer is "6yr olds aren't capable of mens rea, they cannot commit a crime. Call someone else, this isn't our job. If the little witch is really acting like an animal try the dog catcher"
