I think a person really has to be born prior to 1967 to have been old enough to understand the intense, visceral hatred we have for these Ayatollahs. Who sprang into power in 1979, thanks to Jimmy Carter; a worthless, feckless man who never should have been president.

And when we hear the word Iran, these faces spring to mind.

These are Ayatollahs.

They are wretched pieces of sh1t that destroy every life around them - especially the muslims who have long suffered under their thumbs.

So yes, kill them all. And when one is deposited from the anus of Satan to replace the former, flush that one as well.

Trump didn't have specific authorization from Congress and it wasn't in response to an attack. So how is this legal?

The war powers act only requires the president to inform congress within 48 hours of mobilizing troops.

Then he has 60 days to prosecute whatever campaign he deems necessary. If congress hasn't approved the actions by then, he has another 15 ? days (IIRC) to withdraw the troops.

Not sure if this is really Iran. But if it is it just kinda sorta looks nuclear.

The GBU-57 bunker busters penetrate 200 feet into the earth before detonating. There's probably not much to see.

There's some pics of a shallow underground nuclear explosion to compare here:

Sedan (nuclear test) - Wikipedia

en.m.wikipedia.org en.m.wikipedia.org

That test was deeper than fordow (600 feet vs 200) but the explosion was *much* bigger (104,000 tons of TNT equivalent vs only about 2.5 tons for the GBU-57).

So that's all it looks like when you're 3 times deeper, and 41,000 times as powerful.

POTUS has the nuclear Football: He doesn't need permission from Congress or to even notify then, if and when he takes action...That said, only Congress has the power to declare War (even though the President either started or pulled us into one with his actions)

Legally he would have to inform them within 48 hours if he launched the nukes.

Pretty sure that'd be just a formality at that point.

I was wondering that myself.

Is it enough to bomb the facilities if we can't actually recover the uranium or verify its destruction? It was enriched to at least 60% and enough of it for nine bombs if brought to weapons grade. I'd think that would still make for some decent dirty bombs. I wouldn't doubt if it was relocated given all the sabre-rattling.

If you have enriched uranium and natural uranium (as you would at an enrichment facility), and you blow it up, you basically just un-enriched all of the expensive stuff.

Think of enrichment like this. You have a bin full of black sand with a tiny bit of red mixed in. About 60 pounds of sand, and 7 ounces of it are red grains.

To make your bomb, you need 5 ounces of red sand with no more than half an ounce of black mixed in.

You just spend a week painstakingly sorting it out so that you're now close. You have a jar with about 7 ounces of sand that's mostly red. You just need to pick out a few more black grains and you're good to go.

That jar is right next to the bin, and someone tosses in a hand grenade in the room and now it's all scattered around the place.

That's what blowing up an enrichment facility would look like.

Did he start every day by telling everyone that he was planning to use his guns to kill all of his neighbors? If so, then yes.

Threats of credible violence are not protected speech.

If a guy holding a knife says he's going to stab you, you don't have to wait for him to swing it at you to eliminate the threat

Well that was quick, less than 24 hours.

NEWS — Chuck Schumer says Congress must enforce the War Powers Act. “I’m urging Leader Thune to put it on the Senate floor immediately. I am voting for it and implore all Senators on both sides of the aisle to vote for it.” ( nothing will come of it, but they wont miss an opportunity to try)
