Not F14s then, and not F22s now.
Iran was *the only* country besides the US to fly F14s.
Today the F22 is *illegal* to sell to any other country.
Even our closest allies aren't allowed to buy them.
We lease nuclear armed Trident missiles to the UK, but if they wanted F22s the answer would be "no".

Looks like the attack was pretty damned successful.
All of the posters here suggesting that it was only a minor setback appear to be very very wrong.
I don't know what to think and realize we're never going to know the truth.
Iran is never going to admit to the extent of damage.
We don't have access to the most sensitive intelligence reports. And I'm glad we don't because we probably shouldn't.

Well, they've given up on trying to further enrich their uranium. I would say at least for the remainder of Trump's term.
Probably because they know they can't hide it, and they could spend a year or two building a new enrichment facility, and we could just destroy it in a day again.
Seems pretty apparent that their existing facilities are destroyed beyond repair. It's likely that it would be easier for them to start from scratch than to salvage anything from the old site.
I think that's probably the definition of absolute success for that mission.

I'm sure they're scared of that.
But the fact that we carried out our strikes from within *our* borders on the other side of the world has to have them absolutely terrified. They have missiles they can lob at Telaviv. They can't even attempt an attack on Montana.
And the fact that we blew up a facility they built as hardened as they can manage, buried beneath 300 feet of solid rock, and their first indication they were under attack was the explosions had to be a real wake up call.

My statement had nothing to do with their abillity to retaliate, it has to do with the fact that they have no control over their home borders and Israel had the ability to move the munitions secretly right into their backyards and successfully strike the targets. Dont mean to diminish the effects our strikes had in causing their collective sphinky's to quink

Yes, they are essentially at the mercy of the Isreaiis who would dog walk them in an actual war.
I was just pointing out that if that idea keeps them up at night, they should bear in mind what happens if the US decides they are too much of a detriment to our interests.
Sort of a "don't think of trying another 9/11 against us, unless you want to see what the power vacuum from Iran ceasing to exist would do to the region"

I dont believe we will see our troops in Iran. I expect he will just bomb the snot outta them similar to the last time, strategic hits, but more widespread. We've already demonstrated our ability to hit them where ever we want. Maybe another snatch like Maduro? I am hoping we learned our lesson about trying to occupy some desert shithole like Irag, Afghanistan etc.
If the goal is regime change the administration better be prepared for the consquences. It is generally believed the iranians control some number of sleeper cell terrorists in this country. If our intention is to eliminate the regime why wouldn't they respond with every suicidal means of retaliation available to them?
I don't like Iran at all. I don't trust Iran at all. I actually don't have any issue with random Iranian citizens I don't think they want war either they just want to be left alone, they clearly are not fans of their regime either.
But I also do not like the idea of pre emptively striking them when they are not threatening CONUS.
It just feels dirty to be doing Israels work for them. That's my take on it and how it feels to me. I've evolved my opinions over time to become more isolationist and stay in our hemisphere.
I think in Iran there is potential for an order of magnitude of unintended consequences that are worse than the situation is today.
But I also do not like the idea of pre emptively striking them when they are not threatening CONUS.

I expect one might form an opinion based on the limited and often opinionated Reporting as to the effects of bombing the shit out of their facilities.
It's doubtful the Iranians are going to admit how badly they got their asses handed to them...All the despots in their public addresses tell those listening how they're unscathed, the Country under their beneficent leadership cannot be broken, and even laughably taunt "come and get me" before being removed with extreme prejudice...there's a long list you could ask...oh wait, they're all dead...only reason Maduro isn't is because we want intel on the voting machine tampering and who funded it.

The last attack by Israel and US still has their turbans spinning. Ignoring the precision missiles from us, Israel carried out successful attacks from within their borders and then got away without a single loss. Thats gotta leave some mental scars.

I gotta say, some of the operations our military has conducted in the last year are quite impressive. The wild reports out of Venezuela, and the stealth strikes on Iran should scare the entire world. I don't want the U.S. in some stupid war, but I don't mind us swinging our giant dick around too much either.
And if iran sends every last drone they have to overwhelm our defenses and sink an aircraft carrier? I have no idea if they have that capability. I would bet money they are working on it now, probably with input from Russia and/or China.

The Iranian military would cease to exist the next day.
If the regime is to be removed I don't think they care if the military is eliminated. Or the populace. Sinking a carrier would be comparable to the world trade center attacks.

I don't think our countermeasures would be anywhere near 100%, but the attack would be survivable.
