Only hit military targets on the island and left all the oil infrastructure on and leading to the Island (e.g. tanks, pump houses, piping, pipelines to mainland well locations, etc). Threatened that the oil infrastructure is at risk if Iran shuts down the straight thus blocking ship traffic.

I do wonder what the administration expected to happen by now. Did they expect the mullahs to flee to China or moscow? Did they expect a popular uprising by now? Two weeks is no time to panic but I am curious what they expected to happen at this point in time.

they already shut down the straight to allied nations . they are allowing the ships to friendly countries pass through . At least until the Marines sieze all the islands in the straight . I will also assume the possibility that the Marines will take some small ports on the main land with the intention to bring the Iranian army to battle. Once an air umbrella is established , The Iranians may just as well shoot themselves in the head to avoid the long ride . Then again they do like Russia did in WW2 and pull back into the interior stretching thier suppy lines and air support
The only unknown variable is the number of drones Iran can bring to bear or if or when they can construct a crude nuke or already have them or the precursors to make them .

I think the CIA backed revolution failed . I never did buy that it was real . its been tried many times in past there and it never worked. plan B was the Kurds. And that fell through. Plan C is just get that goddamn straight open before Europe collapses . I honestly think they believed iran would sue for peace once the damage was done.
But how can Iran negotiate with a country that attacked them during negotiations twice? WTF? How do you trust that? thats like your wife cheating on you twice and then promises they wont do it again, and they do then say I swear. it wont happen again . Come on.

Actually, Iran was allowing friendly countries to ship through the gulf . And you can bet the farm that Russia and China and N korea are sending military aid to Iran . Although I heard Iran was pretty pissed off that Chinese air defense weapons were useless.

It's smart to make China dependent on Oil, that the USA can keep flowing.

I didnt mean we cut their oil by Iran closing the strait. China was buying cutrate sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran. I think it was like 75-80% of their oil imports. That stopped flowing when we hit Venez and Iran. They cant be too happy with that situation.
They are going to be even worse off when the oil does start flowing again. Iran/Venezuela previously sold oil to China priced/paid in Chinese yuan. That was putting pressure on the Petro dollar. Now when buying Venezuelan oil China has to pay in USA dollars. I would assume the same will happen when the Iranian govt falls.
