This is correct. The problem is, this cant be done by air alone. its going to require a real war on the ground. Thats where we part ways . I find it morally, ethically, financially wrong on every level , right now it looks like preparations are being made just for that
Honestly, I think Iran will acquire nuclear weapons by some means before any invasion can take place (roughly 1-2 years) I see it as a race to get an invasion force up and ready vs Iran obtaining a nuke and demonstrating it
Russia and China have a decision to make , allow the US take over Iran and the straights controlling the flow of oil , and the mid east fore the next 50 years plus , or supply Iran with the percusors to make nuclear weapons or the weapons themselves .
Pakistan has already offered Iran nuclear weapons . Personally I think its way to late , at this point its a fools errand . The only way Iran comes out of this , is by obtaining nuke s or die . They are backed into a corner , only one way out for them .

We could hold them off indefinitely, but it would take a fresh midnight hammer every 6 months to a year.
They would just wait it out until there is an administration that doesn't have the balls to do that.
They'd get another democrat to sent them a plane load of cash in exchange for pinky swearing not to build nukes, again. Then when the Isrealis show that they are building them anyway the democrats would accuse them of lying until Tel Aviv glows in the dark.
In theory you could destroy enriched uranium by mixing in enough depleted uranium to basically "un-enrich" it. This is easy in a factory setting, but not sure if a bomb could mix them well enough.
You are probably right about a "boots on the ground" approach being necessary to take it.
The alternative is to keep forcing regime changes until we get an Ayatolla who'd rather live than be a nuclear power. Seems to have worked in Venezuela.
Probably the best solution is to just keep destroying the IRGC until they end up with a power vacuum.

That would be the end of whoever did it, and everyone knows that.
Nobody is going to give a nuclear weapon to anyone they even suspect might use it.
Knowledge, sure. Equipment to refine your own, sure. But never any actual nuclear material let alone a bomb.
Imagine what happens if Iran or one of their proxies detonated a Chinese or Pakistani nuke in one of their neighbors cities. That would be the end of the nuclear program for the source country, and possibly the whole country.
What would Russia do if we gave Ukraine a couple nukes and they used them ?

The instant any nuclear weapon is detonated anywhere on earth it's exact location and characteristics are known.
The only way to have a secret nuclear program would be to somehow keep a major industry either enriching uranium or making plutonium secret. We're talking about an industry employing tens of thousands of people with massive facilities.
Then you need to *never* test your weapons and still trust that they will work.
When north korea conducted their first test, an *underground* test no less, we flew sampling planes close enough to fully characterize the isotope ratio so we could verify if it was their own or if they had material from anyone else.
There is no way to give someone nuclear material that they use in a bomb and not have everyone know exactly where it came from, right down to which mines the uranium came from and which facilities refined it.

I don't see how we avoid more hostilies. Iran will refuse to bend the knee as long as the IRGC is in charge. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the china summit was but I didn't get the sense the Chinese were going to help us much.

It has nothing to do with who is in charge right now. Our governors and senators have Chinese's spies working with them, leading parts of the country, and sleeping with powerful people.
We are using massive amounts of solar, 85% of solar is made in China - more money = more power.
Then we have shutdown almost all mining and exploration in the USA because of environmental regulations. Now China owned and produces tons of lithium and components to make battery powered everything. Again, China is the world leader in this tech.
Next up we have the neodymium magnets every piece of tech needs to run. We had the market cornered until environmental dogooders made the place in California making them go bankrupt. Well surprise, surprise, China bought the company and the rights to all their R&D.
This is happening all over. China does almost no R&D and relies on us being too good for our own good and saying oh we can’t do that here because it’s too pollutive. Then China swoops in and buys the company, tech, and research for Pennie’s on the dollar or just imbeds a spy into the company or hacker to steal the tech. Corporate espionage is very real. China is number one.
Partly because their military is going to get smaller and smaller as the years go by because their population is declining. For a country that claims they think in terms of centuries that one child policy was a not well thought out. No one ever said commies were the brightest.
