All this talk about agreements. What have we learned from the past? Lebanon/ Isreal agreement: Lebanon must dearm Hamas, US will monitor; NEVER took place although Isreal withdrew. Gaza/ Isreal: Same agreement; Hows that going? Ukrain Burgas agreement to turn in all left over USSR Nuke material in agreement that Nato would come to their aid; Yeah. Obama Iran Nuke agreement; Inspections ignored, hindered, not allowed and we did? No teeth= no action.

Israel says it will continue operations in Lebanon, despite ceasefire announced by President Trump.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Thursday that Israeli attacks on Hezbollah will continue in southern Lebanon and that displaced Lebanese residents will not be allowed to return, despite Wednesday's agreement to implement a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Katz said that the Israel Defense Forces maintains "freedom of action," including in Beirut, where the threat of resumed Israeli strikes has caused tension between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the White House.

Axios: Two senior U.S. officials said Trump wants to end the war, but Netanyahu appears to want to resume it, with one official saying, “Sometimes Bibi doesn’t know when to stop.”

The US House passed a War Powers Resolution (215-208) directing President Trump to withdraw American forces from hostilities with Iran, with four Republicans breaking ranks.

The measure is non-binding without Senate passage and carries limited immediate impact.

But, this marks Congress's first successful House vote asserting war powers authority over the Iran conflict and constrains future military action without congressional approval.


Reports confirm circulating claims and images of an explosion with smoke in Tehran's Qaleh Hassan Khan area today. This aligns with fresh escalations: Iran striking US targets in Kuwait/Bahrain and US responses. Exact cause unconfirmed amid fast events. More details developing.

Hypothetically, if this conflict ends in the next week or 2 (it probably won't but let's just say it does)
What have we gained or accomplished?


We seem to be stuck in this weird quasi cease fire but not victorious, all the whole depleting our stockpiles of very difficult to replace missile interceptors and cruise missiles, while the local arab countries are losing their stomachs for conflict to see this to the resolution it would need and the strait being closed is affecting the global economy. If we just end now and call it a cease fire what have we accomplished?

But Tim McVeigh did that much with a rental truck and some fertilizer.

A national military celebrating a single strike on an undefended civilian airport just seems like it should be embarrassing.

Not impossible if we're willing to deal with the repercussions....

We have enough nukes to erase Iran from the map in any meaningful capacity.


But yes short of doing that, completely agree. Iran is too big, has too much equipment and has spent so much time preparing for this current situation.

So, their military has been reduced from a major regional power to a minor 2-bit terrorist organization, and you're claiming we should be embarrassed because we didn't kill them all to the last man ?

OfC, of we *had* killed the IRGC to the last man you'd be screaming "genocide". As if genocide of an organization like Hamas or the IRGC is a bad thing.

And your suggestion is what ? Ignore them until they start Nuking things we care about ?

And then NYC glows in the dark, then you'll complain that we didn't do anything to stop them ?

Still would not happen. I understand that my word impossible, do not really fit here.

I watched a video of a Nuke annalist speak on this point, he claims more than 250 nukes would need to be dropped in order to completely wipe out all that Iran's military has.

Yea that's about what it would take, maybe even more.

Iran is big. They have a big military. They have many hardened bunkers and caves.

The only chance to actually beat Iran unconditionally is to nuke them, or wage total warfare and conquer them and occupy them like was done in WW2. I think America has the stomach for neither option.

Do you have another example that might actually pull at people's heart strings?

I suspect that, if NYC is glowing, people will throw a party. Upwind, of course, to avoid the fallout. ;)

I think if you kill enough of the IRGC leadership, their government will collapse.

A few Atatollahs isn't enough. But you kill whoever you can find.

If the Ayatollah goes to ground, kill the generals.

If you can't find them, kill the colonels.

Just keep working your way down until they start fighting each other for control. Then pick one you can live with and back him.

But, the important part is to just keep killing people until you win. There is *zero* reason to stop just because your "negotiating". You tell them "better negotiate harder before your situation gets even worse".
