Governor Hochul Signs ‘Medical Aid in Dying Act’, Bringing Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide to Troubled New York State​

The culture of death is still festering in areas dominated by the Democrat party.

Yet another US state is set to implement legislation over the ‘Medical Aid in Dying’ – which is just a disguised name for the practices of euthanasia and assisted suicide.

We have been reporting on this deadly trend, especially in Canada, where it’s gotten totally out of control, as you can read in 5% of Canadian Deaths Are Now Caused by Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide, Killing More Than 13.500 People a Year.

Now, it’s blue New York state that’s going down the slippery slope.


Medical aid in dying allows eligible terminally ill adults to seek a prescription for medication they may choose to self-ingest to bring about a peaceful death if their suffering becomes too great.”

I have mixed feelings about this, but I do see where the can be a need. I recently had a SIL that suffered a long and very painful death, but this new law wouldn't have helped her as she fought it until there was no way she could have been judged competent.
On the other side of the coin, I can see this saving the state millions of dollars in Medicaid and being abused.

The slippery slope is very slippery in NY. Because of that alone, if I had a vote, I would vote no.

It's not so much that I'm against euthanasia; we use that option for our pets to be humane.
But I have a high degree of distrust of anything government, and after covid, the healthcare system too. So yeah, I would have voted no.

Bigfoot said it well, but this is something I personally support.

People who are terminally ill or just don’t want to live anymore, that is their choice and I’m not sure why we should stop them.

A right to life and liberty to me means control over my life.

Also, I don’t want to be a burden on my family or society just to keep me breathing for as long as possible because if moral ambiguity if I were ever in this position.

I have to come to terms with that as a religious person but

I’m not picking on you but I keep seeing this comparison to pets. Pets are animals and we can shoot animals and kill them for food. To me there is no comparison between humans and animals so I do not get this comparison.
On the face of someone is suffering I have no issues doling them up very heavily or even people choosing this. I don’t believe in abortion or euthanasia because I feel like human life is sacred and should be protected at all costs. Now that’s my belief and if you want to choose differently then that’s up to you and not my decision. Canada has started off this way but has now pushed much further and will let you end your life for any incurable illness. I struggle because a lot of things are incurable and you can end your life for many things. To me they want this because they pay for your health care. Ending a costly endeavor is great for them.
I see the animal thing with gay comparison as well. If we want to allow animalistic behaviors in humans well there’s plenty of things people would not want to happen. Brown bears kill cubs and essentially rape the mother bear to keep their genes going. Would the liberals want this to justify gayness?

He wasn't cognizant enough to consent to that so it wouldn't have applied to our situation, but would it have been better then to let him be in misery for as long as he was? I don't know the answer to that.

Frankly, I hope I live a long and happy life. At the end of it I just want to drop dead from a massive heart attack or stroke or get by a bus or something. This slow fade out is hell for the individual and for their loved ones.

She has completely lost her memory. Nothing at all does she remember. She has lost the ability to speak. She grunts and moans, that is it.

We had to place her in an assisted living environment because none of us can care for her.

She is a shell of the woman that she was just a year ago. Each day, she dies a bit more. She is dying alone. I cannot imagine what she is going through.

Many years back, because we are very open about death, she had stated that she would not want to go through life the way she is now.

In her state though, end of life decisions are removed from the person.

They know that I will NOT! be going into a home.

I will end myself when I deem the time to be correct.

Just be sure you do it in a way your family still gets the life insurance. I understand this, I do. Homes are no place to be.
