That's a faulty analogy. If someone had killed several of my children and were still shooting at the rest of them, from a house where there were other people who knew that the shooters were shooting at my family, and had been warned to get out, but decided to stick around to give the bad guys cover, I wouldn't hesitate to hoot into that house.

After Oct7th Isreal would be fully justified in hitting Gaza the way we hit Dresden or Tokyo.

If there's an apartment building with 100 residents, and 2 guys are shooting at you from a window, I'd have no problem calling in a JDAM strike through the roof. That's just how war goes.

Also, what makes you think there were *any* civilians in the building ? Because of the rampant perfidity perpetrated by Hamas, you basically have to assume *everyone* is a combatant until proven otherwise.

The main fundamental flaw in the analogy is that almost *everything* in war would be murder if judged by civilian standards.

The rules of civilian life are just not applicable in war. Calling your boss a son of a bitch isn't even a crime in civilian life. In war it can get you serious prison time.

Killing dozens of people will get you an award in war, in civilian life it makes you a serial killer.

A civilian cop who killed gang members on sight based only on how they dressed would be a monster.

A soldier doing the same with the enemy is just how you fight a war.
