Radical Iran

[holdover]

Initial Strikes: Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeted the main headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain, during the opening days of the conflict on February 28, 2026.

: Over a dozen buildings, including barracks, warehouses, communication terminals, and the primary command facilities, suffered heavy damage with reconstruction estimates topping $400 million

The damage severely disrupted resupply lines in the region, forcing extended delivery timelines for assets like the

USS Abraham Lincoln.

• • Personnel Relocation: Around 1,450 sailors, civilians, and family dependents were ordered out of the Juffair area to safe havens and U.S. installations, including Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia and locations in Tampa, Florida. [1, 2, 3]
  • No Immediate Return: Senior Navy officials confirmed there are no immediate plans to return families or restore normal operations at the base, leaving many evacuees displaced in temporary housing while the Pentagon recalculates its regional military posture.

Between 06:20 and 07:10 UTC, US and Iranian moves signal a sharp escalation: US 5th Fleet headquarters was evacuated from Bahrain to Virginia while Iran claims to have destroyed a US A‑10 and captured a US drone, and Iran’s president alleges a US‑Israeli strike killed his top foreign policy adviser. Debris from intercepted Iranian drones injured civilians in Bahrain.

At least 13 U.S. military bases across the Middle East were forced to evacuate or became uninhabitable following persistent Iranian missile and drone strikes during the 2026 conflict

High-impact sites included Naval Support Activity Bahrain (home to the 5th Fleet) and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait

The U.S. military announced the complete withdrawal of all remaining American forces from Iraq on September 30, 2026, ending a 12-year counter-ISIS mission and a military presence that began in 2003. [1, 2, 3]

Congressionally-mandated Pentagon Inspector General reports highlight that Iranian ballistic missile and drone strikes heavily damaged multiple structures at U.S. installations across the Middle East, including locations in Jordan

We lost the entire 5th fleet HQ in Barain , because our fleet was sitting ducks if they docked there.

The general point is the media is bullshit . point 2 was that air defense missiles were not enough to save the base's

Have you *looked* at that "headquarters" ?

Nothing was going to doc there bigger than a fishing boat, certainly not a fleet.

It was an administrative headquarters. The whole site was about the size of a shopping mall about 140 acres

They evacuated *before* hostility broke out because they knew it was a likely target and was not a critical facility.

There were only about 100 people left working there by the time it was struck.

[Saltwater60]

I said he did nothing to stop it . I know a lot of you guys think that wipeing Iran off the face of the earth for Isreal is a great idea , but there a lot people that dont think so

I think wiping Iran off the face of the earth is a good thing, at least it’s political leaders, but it has nothing to do with Israel. Iran is a bad actor period. They are bad for everyone like the Taliban and Isis. They are terrorists and murderers period. I have no use for them and the world would be better off without all of them.

Probably be better off with BOTH wiped from the face of the Earth...gotta be real reasons why Jews and gentiles (non-jews) have been diametrically opposed and warring each other for over three thousand years.

I’m not sure I’d use the term gentiles to group the people they have been warring with. To me it’s the Muslims they are warring with. At least form what I know for the most part the Muslims attack first. I don’t have an issue with Jews and the ones I have interacted with don’t seem to mind me as a gentile.

[Brawny71]

Common intended fault; Isreal vs Jews. Frankly as a country founded on religious freedoms I welcome anyone here who wants to be part of this great experiment and contribute while respecting the other contributors regardless of their religious affiliation.
Isreal is (and has been) dealing with open hostility from countries based on the Islamic faith. The country is not totally Jewish and have a mix of several religions to include Islam followers. Isreal is a Jewish based state surrounded by Islamic ones who don't want them there. Frankly their struggle is impressive.

If Iran (back to topic) were to cut the head off and return as a legitimate country, run by the people who want to co-exist with the rest of the world it would be a step in the right direction.

Isreal is (and has been) dealing with open hostility from countries based on the Islamic faith.

It has nothing to do with faith. Your not listening .

Iran is a bad actor period.

And prior to this war, when was the last time they fucked with Americans?

because they've been building a bomb since the 1970s??

[spat]

And prior to this war, when was the last time they fucked with Americans?

because they've been building a bomb since the 1970s??

Continuously since '79.

I'm not sure if you could find any 5 year stretch in the last 45 years where they or their proxies weren't fucking with our interests, if not actively killing Americans.

[tirwin1]

You cannot possibly be this deluded. So iran are the good guys?

[spat]

Continuously since '79.

I'm not sure if you could find any 5 year stretch in the last 45 years where they or their proxies weren't fucking with our interests, if not actively killing Americans.

Here are some highlights.

• 1979–1981: Tehran Embassy Hostage Crisis
Iranian militants seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, holding 52 American diplomats and citizens hostage for 444 days.
• 1983: Beirut Embassy Bombing
A suicide truck bombing targeted the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon, killing 63 people, including 17 Americans, in an attack linked to the precursor group of Hezbollah.
• 1983: Beirut Marine Barracks Bombing
An explosives-laden truck driven by Hezbollah operatives detonated at the U.S. Marine compound in Beirut, killing 241 U.S. military personnel (220 Marines and 21 other service members).
• 1996: Khobar Towers Bombing
A truck bomb exploded outside a U.S. military housing complex in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 U.S. airmen and injuring hundreds.
• 2003–2011: Iraq War Militia Attacks
Pentagon assessments attribute the deaths of 603 U.S. service members in Iraq to attacks by Iranian-backed Shia militias using explosively formed penetrators (EFPs) and rockets.
• 2020: Ain al-Asad Air Base Missile Strike
Iran launched ballistic missiles at an Iraqi base housing U.S. forces following the killing of Qasem Soleimani, resulting in traumatic brain injuries for over 100 U.S. service members.
• 2023: October 7 Hamas Attack
Hamas's assault on Israel resulted in the deaths of 46 American citizens, with the U.S. government citing extensive long-term Iranian funding, training, and logistical backing for the group.
• 2024: Tower 22 Drone Attack
A drone strike by Iran-backed militia groups hit a logistical support base in Jordan (Tower 22), killing three U.S. Army reserve service members and injuring dozens.

You really need to stop reading whatever anti-western toilet rag you get all your propaganda from.

Some people have TDS. Others have Jewish derangement syndrome. If your hatred for Israel leads you to categorize the Iranian regime as "good guys" then you are the joke.

It's possible to be critical of the actions of the Israeli government and their outsized influence on this country without considering the Iranians "good guys" in any way, shape or form. One might think that thumbs up approvals from a flat earther might make you reconsider your position but I guess not.

It's hard to lump everyone under one banner, and there are such wide differences between persons claiming to be Judaism, Muslim, Christian, etc.
We trusted and interacted with MANY Muslims practicing/learning Medicine in the Hospitals...I never thought any were less than 100% caring for us.

Honestly, either do I. The ones I knew were mostly hard working decent people. In fact many of your common jewish neghibors dont always agree with the government of Isreal either , which kinda makes them antisemite if they are held to the same standards I am .

Well, it's clear that a couple people in this thread have no idea what's going on in the world.

But it's not him.

You have a ridiculously one sided understanding of the world. It's clear that your primary sources of information are hard anti-western propaganda, and you think anyone who *doesn't* accept that worldview has been deceived.

But the fact is, you are the one who has been deceived, and you are the one who's understanding of world events is based solely on carefully crafted lies.

You are literally one step shy of the guy who thinks gravity is a conspiracy theory, but the jews secretly run the world from hidden bases beyond the ice wall.

You guys get your information from the same sources, you *are* headed down the same rabbit hole.

I don't think he is a troll. He's a long time poster here, and has contributed positively to threads that don't involve US foreign policy.

I think he legitimately believes the ridiculous ideas he is peddling.

Ahh Yes, Coming from a guy who believes in .Gov pushed false narratives. All Lies! Your world view never went past ABC, CBS , Fox news etc as you spout all their talking points trying to make it al left-vs-right thing. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear can see right thru your types and BS lies.
Afterall "Conspiracy theorists" are 30-0 when it comes most issues. Good luck as you are "Trusting the plan". next I'll hear you too are on a flight to go kiss the wall. All these wall kissers! Ya might wonder why that is? President of the United States kissing a wall...... Unreal!. I'd piss all over it!

I figure the flat earther is either a troll or mentally ill; probably both.

But the one you speak of, I agree with you. Unlike the other clown, I agree with you because he hasn't been crazy on some other issues. IMO.

I think he did really well and contributed a lot of good stuff that made sense, with the Sandy Hook thing as only one example of some others.

The US going to war with Iran seemed to put a few members here over the edge from my perspective.
