Someone here posted it already. Scroll up. Do you not know how to look for yourself? Its the senate bill. Not something written on a napkin at the bar. Should be quite easy to find.

It says if you possess outside of the home you must also possess your certificate of training.

They said they were in session for a historic gun related event. They posted they were in session then 4 minutes later that they stand at ease.

The state senate was in session on this just now. The session lasted 4 minutes. That's how quickly they did this.

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

You missed the rest. Nobody is saying everyone is getting patted down. Im saying if someone suspects you and calls on you the police WILL pat you down and you will get the charge. Maybe you were wearing a camo hat. Maybe a "Winchester" shirt. Maybe it was something they overheard you say. The...

The draft of the law says your training certificate must be carried at all times outside the the home and is good for 2 years. This will be Ann ongoing training requirement. They want you to be too busy or get fed up and say the hell with it and let your permit lapse.

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Should also note that a weapons pat down for safety is not considered a search.
  10. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

It's not stop and frisk. In any police encounter they have the right to pat down for weapons. This is long upheld. All it takes is a suspicion for there to be an encounter.
  11. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

The proper procedure is to remove the gun while it remains in the holster. They are one. The weapon should never come out. You lock them up together.

NY's Vindictive Plans for carry - special session next week to respond to SCOTUS's ruling. (Merged)

Its been long upheld that police can pat down for weapons for their safety. You don't stand a chance here.

NY's Vindictive Plans for carry - special session next week to respond to SCOTUS's ruling. (Merged)

All it takes is a suspicion. The police will then pat down for weapons. Then the game is over.

A very small one. The risk of being discovered is much larger than the chance you'll have to use a gun to save your life.

What you must? You must be a convicted felon and do prison time and never own a gun again it sounds like. Be careful!

Yep. Can't carry in stores anymore but also don't want you to leave them in the car. Also known as "do not leave your home with them"

Was just going to post along these lines. What about all of the "this disproportionately affects people of color" talking points? What about the lower income people that won't be able to afford the training classes? They can't exercise their natural rights? So we cant have ID to vote because...

Senate Bill S1192B You'd better Read it and act right now!

No sir. No good. You need to take the state approved training and send them their cut of the money.

Contact whoever you want. It will do no good whatsoever.

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

So you're never going to the grocery store again? No grocery store is going to post a guns allowed sign. This is not realistic. We need to get serious.
  21. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Nobody is going to post this, for liability, appearance and not wanting to become "involved". We are screwed.

NY's Vindictive Plans for carry - special session next week to respond to SCOTUS's ruling. (Merged)

Well there is a new standard for how the lower courts have to rule on 2A cases now, so it doesn't necessarily have to make its way back up to SCOTUS.

.. and taking more money from us. Surely the new required training will not be free. It will be very costly and the state will get their cut.

The rushed, newly written laws will be so bad and filled with so many errors it will be unreal. Just like the last legislation they passed on guns in the middle of the night. Will the Brinks truck driver be committing a felony when he enters the bank armed for a pickup? You bet he will. These...

My permit, how to properly "destroy" a gun.

Be careful and make sure you do it the right way. NY law makes it illegal to destroy or dispose of a gun. Don't fall into a trap.
  26. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

This is EXACTLY what it means. And this will not be a simple request. It will be thew law. Violate it and become a felon. No more guns. Ever. Don't think it can happen? All it will take is someone to *suspect* you may be carrying. The police will come and give you a lawful "pat down" for their...

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Been busy, tried to read through newer posts.. This stance they are taking that it will be illegal to carry a gun somewhere unless it is posted that it is allowed is so outrageous. NO ONE is going to post that it's ok. Stores will not want to get involved. If there is a shooting, even if done...
  28. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

I have no intention of doing it, I was just pointing out how ridiculous it is that you have these natural rights, but they hinge on wether or not you have a piece of t-shirt covering a certain area or not. Either you can do it or you can't. Hochul has been saying that people get uneasy when they...
  29. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

I mentioned something similar to this the other day. The whole "may be revoked at any time" thats printed on the back of the permits is pretty much out the window now, isn't it? No longer is it like they did you a favor and gave you a permit. Now its more like they gave you the permit because...
  30. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

They could. But it would not be a violation of the law. Now it certainly will be. They'll try to make you a felon for stopping by the store for a dozen eggs on your way home. Unlawful weapons possession in a sensitive place or something to that effect will be added to the penal law no doubt.
  31. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

I'm aware. So the island of Manhattan in whole cannot be a sensitive place, but they can list 900 places on the island that are. Same goes for the rest of the state. Also if you restrict public transit, most people won't be able to carry anyway. How are you going to get to and from your...

Supposedly the Supreme Court will over turn roe v wade

For too long the republicans have tried to play nice and try to win the next election. I'm glad they finally took action when they had the power to do so. I don't really have strong feelings one way or the other on abortion, but I do support this decision because it's the right call...
  33. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Sure, but SCOTUS could always fix it themselves. They'd rather not. They'd rather tell the lower courts what to do so it's not technically them making the changes. "Ask your mother".
  34. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

I saw our unelected leader Kathy gleaming on TV, saying that they are allowed to implement restrictions on sensitive places, and that she will personally be defining those places. She had a shit eating grin on her face. For a while I have been telling people "be careful what you wish for"...
  35. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Point taken... They are basically saying "we don't want to make these decisions, so here's your instructions - now you do it." Similar to "go ask your mother".
  36. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

I'd love to see what the charge would be if someone was "open carrying". You're telling me that a right that was just reaffirmed by the Supreme Court is invalidated if I don't have a piece of cotton fabric covering my gun? Not trying to put you on the spot, just saying.
  37. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Should be set up to be able to challenge that now too. I can only exercise my rights if I live in a certain area? Can I only practice a certain religion if I live within your approved area? Doesn't work that way. Not anymore. It's not a second class right anymore. This should pave the way...

  40. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

Not going down a rabbit hole with ya. Im sticking to the decision that was released today by SCOTUS.
  41. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

The hype is you dont have to show cause for a permit. Apply and be approved. It's basically must issue unless you're a dangerous person or criminal.
  42. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

What? You are on here denying a written released court decision. I am referencing 2 courts that upheld 10 rounds is the law and the state police and DA instructions stating the same. I am not going to argue with you. It is not debatable.
  43. G

NYSRPA v. Bruen, NY 2A Case Supreme Court case and decision

NY permits are not NYC permits. Two separate things. Apply for a NYC permit and they will have the obligation to approve it.

Who said I trust the gov? Just because they didn't update the webpage doesn't mean thats actually the law in force. Find me the arrest and you'll have a point. Its meaningless text that I pay no mind to , because I know better.
