All great questions that I probably should have provided the information. I'm not sure on barrel length I will try to get that tonight. Yes this model has an acutrigger, I probably should dial it down a hair but it's not too bad right now. Ya I didn't even attempt the longer targets. I was...
I've acknowledge I'm probably to blame for 90% of my woes. Between being rusty at that type of shooting and my lack of notes. There was definitely a self induced struggle. I'm also thinking about some sort of ballistics program for my phone. The idea is I will feel like I will actually use it...
Those targets were at 500. I wasn't the only one shooting the steel so it's hard to tell the groups. It took a little for me to get them dialed in. And I chased the bullseye for the second half because I wanted to hit one of the 4" hanging targets. I never got it sadly. I didn't do terrible but...
Well I should tap in the resident expert @meketrefe . I thought I should add the picture from the last shoot.
I was talking with the guys from the shoot about getting back into the game. They instantly hoped on my ammo. Although I agree there's room for improvement that wasn't going to be...
So between reading through @Podmonkey 's thread and getting out to shoot my "long range" gun the other weekend, the spark has been lit again. When I was doing this before I was in college/right after college so money was tight, so somethings were cobbed together. Also because I had the time I...
The reloaders here will know what I got. Now I need to figure out the hardware needed finish mounting it. Hopefully I'll be back up and reloading again by the end of the week.
I would have to ask him. We talked about WAY too many models and options and it got lost in my memory. He actually has 2 different models. I might end up putting some money into my savage and buy some more accessories before the Begara purchase. I also think I will need to switch up my loads for...
It took me a little bit to find this thread I forgot it was pinned to the top.
I made it out to do some long distance shooting. I haven't done this in a few years and bad on me I didn't have anything wrote down. I had my dope memorized from the zero to 500yds memorized. The good part was I was...
I hate to do this to you Pod, but I got my long distance itch scratched today. It had been a couple years since I made it out to shoot this type of shooting. It was a lot of fun and the other guys that were there had some impressive gear. But here'sthe part your not going to like, one had a...
Honestly if you are thinking you need to sell your shotgun to buy it, you might want to consider a cheaper option. A ruger 10/22 is a great first rifle. Ammo is super cheap and it's perfect platform to learn semi automatic operation of arms. Not to mention fundementails of shooting a rifle will...
We are pretty good about give each other time to do our own thing. The problem is I just built a new house so whenever I get time to escape I find myself doing something around the house instead of sneaking off to the range. Which is sad because I can grab the side by side and just shoot behind...
Thank god no! We already have 2 the oldest is getting ready to turn 4 and the new baby is due in Dec. I haven't purchased any gun stuff in almost 2 years.... well I guess I got a gun safe to keep their little fingers off of them. Hell I can barely make it to the range. I'm also running stupid...
I got mine right out of the gate in Madison Co. I don't think we know much about how this new judge is. Have you contacted the county clerk to see what she says the norm is?
I got a large Amazon order in. Besides the silicone brushes I talked about in the grilling thread, I got a set of tire spoons. I wish I had spent money on a set 15 years ago, game changer. I put tubes in 2 tires on the lawn mower in 30 minutes. And I barley swore which is impressive even for me...
@meketrefe
Sorry not much input here, so far I have used RCBS standard dies. I'm not sure if I have the shooting ability to spend the money on better dies.
I don't disagree agree with what you said, but I don't think it holds true with the OPs premise. I would argue the cities a overwhelmingly not moderate liberals. They are farther dow the left spectrum. I do think a big shift is starting with the non white community. I think your seeing them wake...
I think this is a trend and I also believe the left knows it's happening. But instead of them trying to conform to what Americans want they decided to bring in people to match their views. It's sad we really don't have representatives anymore.
S&B won't be offered in the US again for a long while. After the plant fire they said they had no interest of selling here again.
For your original question it looks like Federal's are the cheap player now. The others seem to all be in the same ball park.
We have kind of put it on the back burner for this year. We instead are going to log off a few sections this year. In the Hope's that we can generate a rough money to have his tractor rebuilt. We hope this will last him for the rest of his life. Plus we also decided to do a major overhaul to our...
I think this is one of the perfect storm things. There are multiple reasons for the decline and I don't see it turning around.
1. Hunting is a lot of work. Let's face it the culture in NY has drove out a lot of the hard workers.
2. Public land has a bad reputation. I'm surrounded by state...
It's a potential case because NYS laws are in contradiction to federal ruling. The whole not being able to own a hand gun without a permit isn't 100% kosher. But I do agree it's a long shot.
I agree. The only thing it might do is make owning a pistol legal (with registration of course)and carry requiring a permit. It's a long shot, but this is the best opportunity so far.
There's a rumor going on at work, that it was a legal fire arm up until last year. i.e. he didn't renew his permit with the state. This could be a huge can of worms.
To a point I agree. You need to have numbers on your side. It helps ensure survival. Unless your going to live like a rabbit and be constantly on the move and afraid for your life every moment.
