I bought 100 small rifle primers for $25, just to get some to do a 100 rd batch of .300 Blackout, but I seem to recall the large pistol and large rifle primers being cheaper than the small rifle/pistol, but there were also small (rifle or pistol, don't remember) match primers for $300 for 1,000...
Davis in Sloatsburg had some of every primer on Sunday. Powders were limited to H110, H1000, IMR4064, IMR4895, Varget, and one other I can't remember. The ammo stock looked solid as well.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it, but I still have a couple lbs and backup powders. It just works perfect for my needs, so an 8# jug or two would be perfect to have on-hand.
Saw one of those sites and almost jumped at the chance. A gut feeling and the old saying "if it looks too good to be true" saved me from learning an expensive lesson the hard way. What powder is it, btw? I'll keep an eye out for you if you keep a similar eye out for me for an 8 lbs jug of Longshot.
Well, there's nothing in this talking about reciprocity or issuing to non-residents. My hunch is that NYC would issue licenses to their residents on a shall issue basis, but would continue not to recognize non-NYC resident licenses. So NYC residents would be able to get licenses, but residents...
Having just listened to the arguments instead of reading the transcript, I'm encouraged for some kind of a limited win. Breyer, Kagan, and Sotomayor will definitely be the dissent. Coney-Barrett seems the iffy one. I fully expect Roberts to sign with a pro-2A opinion. I doubt we'll get strict...
Agreed, but part of the issue is that in NY, it's kind of a non-issue. You really just don't see "no guns" signs in NY, or at least not around my parts. You have way more of them in pro-gun Texas than here. Getting a full carry is very difficult, but there are way fewer restrictions here than in...
Off-topic, but why did you change your profile pic from your usual, pleasant Viking woman to a photo of what appears to be a cross-eyed chihuahua on crack?
I never shot any of those other than the S&W M&P .22, which I liked. The Glock/Taurus comparison was only hearsay from a couple friends that have shot both the Taurus and Glock .22s. They seem to prefer the Taurus. But I know more people that have just shot the Glock .22 and really like it.
As...
Never underestimate blanks because they're lethal on their own at contact distances. In this case, I agree with spat that there was likely some kind of bore obstruction that the blank blew out. Something like that is what killed Bruce Lee's son when they were filming The Crow.
Exactly. I watched that video a while back. Anything he says is a con. He thinks he's more clever than anyone around him and can scam his way out of the living hell he created for himself. He obviously has never faced any serious consequences for his actions and has managed to skate his way out...
Forgot about sous vide. Great method and keeps steaks incredibly juicy, but I rarely go through the extra trouble for a steak since it's such a quick thing to cook in a pan or on the grill. I prefer it for cuts that benefit from slow-cooking. Tougher beef roasts, short ribs, shanks, pork...
Bingo. When all of society is taught to sit down, shut up, and "let the authorities handle this", what other response would you expect from your average commuter?
It's a sad combination of people thinking "someone else will help" and "I might get in legal trouble myself if I intervene".
Wow, that's as good as it gets. Out of the states you don't have, WA and CT are the only reasonable ones you could even add. When my UT comes up (for renewal), I'm adding PA for sure, and maybe CT and/or FL, and even with all 5 of those, I'd still have fewer than you do.
Here's a good interactive map to show you which states honor which permits. 50 State Concealed Carry Permit Reciprocity Map Building Resource
Looks like getting Colorado and Pennsylvania non-resident permits would have you covered for the whole trip. Other than NY, I just have Utah, so I can't...
I call out White gun-grabbers on that bs all the time.
White libs who get up in arms over a mass-shooting and demand an assault weapon ban? "Yea, you don't really care about gun violence, because way more shootings happen in the hood with guns you don't demand we ban, you're just scared that...
This doesn't affect us. 15% is lower than our 21% corporate tax rate. If anything, this hurts countries trying to develop a strong business environment using low taxes like Ireland did to attract a bunch of big tech names. Either way, our legislature would still have to approve the agreement...
Pan if you want a bunch of flavor from basting it with herb and garlic butter. Grill over coal if you want to do it right. Straight on the coals for the showmanship or if you don't have a grill or a pan.
I think the full-sized VP9 would be better to learn handgun fundamentals. A bigger, more comfortable grip will help you learn to manage recoil. A longer sight radius will produce better sight alignment unless you're nearsighted. Slightly more weight will reduce felt recoil slightly. The VP9...
So, you say you've had your heart set on the VP9SK... Go for it. In terms of exterior dimensions, it's right between the Glock 19 (compact) and 26 (subcompact). Right between them in terms of grip size and sight radius. Slightly shorter barrel than the 26. Using the extended floorplate...
Didn't see that on the ammo page or any checkout page before ordering. I saw my order was on hold, so I called and got some nasty customer service rep. I'll let them cancel it and won't be ordering from them due to their rude service and not clearly displaying their policy re NY.
Might be a little late since it's billed as a weekend sale, but Norma ammo has stuff you all may need. Free shipping and decent prices.

Really neat product. I wonder, though, if it makes the already dirty gas system even dirtier. I'd actually really like this for precision shooting training with my ARs. It would make brass retention a lot easier than strapping a bulky and obnoxious brass-catcher on the side. Just another thing...
Installed my new Vortex Diamondback 1.75-5x32 on my hunting rifle. EGW HD pic rail, and medium 1" Vortex Pro vertical split rings. I had a bad experience a couple of years ago with my base coming loose in the field after a sloppy, imprecise install. Made sure I did it right with a sled, level...
Eh. Has worked with mixed results for all of human history so far. If you're bad enough and lucky enough to beat all the other bad dudes on the block, you get to last long enough to implode.
I hear you and agree that not chambering a round is probably a better solution for such a completely untrained person than having an external safety. The problem with beginners and safeties is that they don't know what they don't know and just hearing "it has a safety" makes them think "it must...
Unfortunately, people assume that an external safety is necessarily safer. I'm kind of of two minds about it.
I'm confident in handling handguns and really learned on ones that don't have externals. To me, any handgun that's out of the holster has to be treated as hot until I clear it...
Can't say I would like the effect on the ecosystem that snakeheads would have. But I can say that if they wound up in NY, I'd make sure to do my part by catching, killing, and eating every one I caught.
He absolutely should have. I obviously don't like this move, but the next Republican admin should be an appointment bloodbath. If the Dems want to go back to the old spoils system, then the Republicans would be stupid not to oblige. Of course, they'll complain endlessly when it happens in...
I'd love that. Pack up an
college kid commie in a crate and airdrop him in the tropical soviet paradises of Venezuela or Cuba in exhange for a hard-working Central American with tight family values.
