This was a victory today. In one of the most anti gun courts in the country, with 3 anti gun judges, in one of the most anti gun cities in the most anti gun state, Hochul and James got served a big LOSS. The biggest part of the CCIA was the absolute ban on carry on any private property. The tide is turning. History may come to show that in the battle for gun rights that this was the battle of midway.

I know one in CA. A terrorist and his wife shot him at a work event . where he was not allowed to carry . I know of another in TX. She lived but her parents died — she was a part of the CCW push across America .

It did nothing in regard to sensitive or restricted locations OTHER THAN “private property open to the public.” Public property, Gov owned, bars, etc, still prohibited locations. For now.

I’m guessing that the interpretation is left in favor of the State, rather than a full enjoining of the private property restriction. The 2nd Circuit specifically stated “private property open to the public” vs “all private property.” Makes ya wonder.

To the best of my limited knowledge, a no firearms sign carries no weight of law other than trespassing. It's presence wouldn't constitute some reinstatement of some portions of any CCIA.

In my opinion, yes, depending on what you mean by “moral values”.
Let’s look at racism and bigotry. It does depend on the group, but the extreme right wing is now almost out of control, and being egged on by the head racist in the country.

Now the hope is to let these cases get decided on their merit at the district level. Suddaby and Sinatra are two good judges. Maybe by spring we can get decisions and go back to the second circuit. We are about 3 years out before most of this gets settled but I am becoming more optimistic. I am also hopeful with the standard capacity magazine ban and assault weapon cases. In 2 to 3 years I hope we are looking better.

They ruled that semi-auto permitting, the ammo purchasing scheme and fees, new FFL burdens, and most of FUKH's post Bruen tirade does not infringe on 2A or no one has standing.
