All the numbers are subjective, and oft speculative, however the reports of LEO's being severely delayed are prevalent, and those "delayed" far and away outnumber the "proceeds" given on the spot...Must be they're checking your Social Credit Score before giving the go ahead.
Personally, I absolutely REFUSE to undergo the Ammunition Check, although I did submit to one for a new Semi-automatic Rimfire Rifle...took over 24 hours for that one to come back even with Unique Personal Identification Number (UPIN)

I know that this is exactly what the nys gastapo wants but … Fuck ny and it’s jack booted thug governor. I will NOT submit to a background check to purchase ammo. I have what I need and when that gets low I’ll just roll more of my own or go to a free state to buy what I currently don’t reload. I wholeheartedly sympathize with the shop owners that will be hurt by this edict but I will never willing comply with an unconstitutional law.

I have said so much I figured guys were getting tired of me.
It is beyond asinine. More ammo checks get delayed than pass. I think a good estimate of time to sell ammo is about ten minutes. I do not think the big box stores are going to keep selling. I get a knot in my stomach every time I do one, the amount of information being sent is disturbing. I am contributing to an illegal database. EVERY check is contributing. Not sure how long I can do that.

This shit started decades ago. I remember when the Privacy Act passed around 1974, and we were told we did not have to divulge our SSN because of it. Of course, when I was in the Navy, come payday, they told us we WERE NOT REQUIRED to disclose our SSN, HOWEVER, they wouldn’t pay us IF we DID NOT disclose it..
