Nice, but hochul and team will announce the appeal and corresponding work-around before the ink dries on this judge's decision.
Well , he gave them 14 days to do it
Federal Judge Says New York's Body Armor Ban Violates Second Amendment

I say lets hope this ruling sticks. ... My reasoning is this . If one was at the range to practice . Being able to wear one would be most comforting .All of us have been around someone that really should not be shooting a gun .

How long until Hochul the Horrible gives the judge the middle finger and doubles down?
And then continues to violate New Yorkers' 2A rights and she gets away with it...
That's the track record of this sort of thing.

The appeal has to be one that directly addresses his reasons for the decision. Meaning, they have to argue the point that banning advancing technology in body armor, firearms....ect is in line with 2A and consistent with the constitution. My guess is Hochul and James will produce more ads for their elections blaming Trump and republicans using this decision in the ads.

You gotta hand it to them, the grabbers are pretty creative at doing exactly that.
"Okay, body armor is legal, but kevlar material is banned in NY."
My reasoning is this: There is no reason even in the realm of justification that this should have ever been a thing.
“There’s been a lot of fires lately, best ban fire extinguishers. “
The ruling placed a 14 day stay on the injunction, giving NYS time to appeal. Even the judge stated that NY is unlikely to win an appeal on the merits of the case, but a stay is customary. NY didn't even attempt to try the case on the merits, instead argueing that body armor isn't an arm and is therefore not covered by the 2nd. They (NY) clearly lost that arguement in the trial. I can't imagine what they will attempt to argue in the appeal. Either way, it's not likely to succeed. Will NY attempt to pass a new law ? Perhaps. Probably, even. But at some point even Governor Eyebrows has to cut her losses and go after bigger fish. The body armor ban was a feel-good response to the TOPS Shooter and may be forgotten after the appeals court rules against the State.
The 14 day stay issued by the judge is customary. The State, as elected representatives of the citizens, having duly passed and enacted a law, would suffer harm (in the eyes of the law) by having the injunction take effect without a chance to appeal the ruling.

I’ll take the win, but we still need to get the sensitive and restricted locations handled and that’s much more important.

I wonder how that NY ban works when the FBI actually advises some high profile people to get and use body armor.
FUNY!
