If the Democrats are so gung-ho about their repertardations, how about they give most of their money to black people? And leave everyone else out of it.

Chattel Slavery

Rights: Enslaved people in non-chattel systems historically had varying degrees of recognition—such as the ability to own property, earn wages to buy their freedom, or assimilate into the dominant society over time.

Yes, there are various forms of slavery. Some worse than others.

But if you think what was practiced in the US was worse than most of the rest of it, you're wrong.

The vast majority of slavery throughout history was chattel slavery. Milder forms like indentured servitude were relatively rare.

In North Africa at the same time we had slavery here they didn't breed slaves. With the source so close it was cheaper to just capture new ones than to raise children.

So, it's true that it wasn't hereditary, because they just castrated the slaves, there were generally no offspring to inherit the status.

And they took Europeans (and Americans) as slaves, to the point where we fought a war to stop them. You should look up where the marine corp hymn got "to the shores of Tripoli" from.

When slaves were cheap, they were treated worse. When they were expensive they were treated better. Same way you would treat a cheap car off Craigslist worse than you would an expensive one you got new from a dealer.

In many places and times they were cheap enough they would just be worked to death and replaced in under a year.

Sometimes both forms of slavery would exist in the same place at the same time.

A Roman slave in the salt mines (who was likely slavic, where the word comes from) was treated far more brutally, and there was zero chance they were going to pass their status on to offspring. They would never have a chance to have any.

At the same time and place, a household slave in Rome might have a relatively comfortable (for the time and circumstances) life, and even have a chance to eventually become a free man.
