3 Palestinian hostages for every freed hostage? Sounds fair. How about we find out how many Israeli and other hostages were killed by Hamas and kill that many Palestinian ones? Except Isreal hasn't taken hostages. They aren't civilian prisoners. They're closer to POWs, or "enemy combatants".
The Geneva Conventions would call them non-uniformed combatants, and afford them no protection at all.
The hostages that Hamas took really are hostages. They were peaceful civilians before being abducted from their homes or a music festival.
