There’s a huge difference between saying they have no jurisdiction on private property and following the fourth amendment of the constitution. No jurisdiction means they can’t enter or enforce anything on private property or they can’t enter it. If a cop doesn’t have jurisdiction in an area that means they can’t enforce laws or enter that area. Big difference in following the constitution and no jurisdiction means

Yeah, I don’t understand this either. What the hell have they been checking for with these ammunition background checks then? I mean , before this , what would have prohibited you from purchasing it?

Go through a bad divorce ... They throw everything against the wall to get leverage on you . Have a house keeper see a gun where it should not be . ... You say I am home so I don't have to have it locked up ... But then you take the dog out for his 10 minute break ... You have left the home and the gun is not secure. How many people have a shotgun leaning in a corner behind a door ... That house keeper could jam you up.
We are low hanging fruit . Next thing ... How many people know about this law. I have friends that watch about 10 minutes of national news like fox ... Where are they going to hear about this law ?

Like I have mentioned before................have an emergency...someone fell, is bleeding, having a stroke, small kitchen fire, neighbor complains about you........................exigent circumstances may apply, and an inspection may occur. Call 911, and it is almost guaranteed.

Plan for the worst, and definitely keep a copy of the constitution to throw in any cops face with glue on it, as you are being lead away in cuffs for a safe storage violation.

If it can happen it will...............it is can break, it will, unintended circumstances do occur all the time.

Makes you wonder with all these laws how gangbangers get weapons or ammunition!? A bit bizarre no?

And oh wait... Wasn't there this funny little SCOTUS Ruling that invalidated any requirement to unload or lock up a firearm in the home as it defeats one of the main tenants of the idea to "defend" oneself... Think it was that silly D.C. ruling so many years ago. But NY being NY, they'll pick and chose what they want to obey (Laws)...

I no longer have a dog in this fight as I'm not residing in NY, but my heart goes out to all of you still there!

I will contend that the locked doors of my Home constitutes an enormous "locked box" for which my Arms are stored and when I have gun ready within this same container that it is "in use" as a defensive tool irrespective if I have my hand upon it or not...That said, I am responsible for the safety of those entering under my roof and take this responsibility seriously, but you cannot legislate human stupidity nor sensible ideology; these concepts are to be instructed and instilled, not governed.
Again, this Law was passed as homage to the benefactors that wrote it and supply desperately needed campaign contributions to the democrats that sponsored it.
