Been following the bouncing ball, as with many of these type threads there is no easy answer. One question I have. What does his being a Veteran have to do with anything? (Yes, I'm a Veteran.) IMO that would hold him to a higher standard, thus he'd follow rules and regs. Seems he didn't. And please save the Oath of Office references crap.

Other than trying to emotionally appeal to one's patriotism, not a damned thing.

IMO, him being a veteran really doesn't have much to do with this other than he's got more invested in defending the constitution than someone who isn't a veteran.

I already hate the politicians in this state. So I haven't viewed the video. Judging by ya'll posted reactions, I don't think it will put me in positive mood.
It's so sad about NY. I hear many stories about how it is so nice upstate (Hudson valley, the lakes and mountains)(and the people are good too)
I live down here on Long Island. Lower NY area and NYC is a cesspool of the state - IMO. I can't say I hate this place cause it's the people that make it a SHIT HOLE.

Ok, point made by both of you. But why does this get mentioned at all? Seems it's used as nothing more than a attention grabbing headline.
Like: Person charged with an illegal .38 Caliber, Model 10, Smith and Wesson, Revolver. Do we care at this point about these details??

I think veterans are given a certain amount if respect, as they are viewed as "the best of our population" based on the rigors if what they have to go through to get and be there. I think that respect also places them in a light that they should also be morally "better" if you will, to some people. I guess even I view veterans with a certain reverence for facing danger and possible death just to protect our country and its way of life

Damn, this thread is a shit-fest.
In any case, I donated. This guy could be any of us. If it was me, I'd hope each and every one of you would help - FUDs and statists included.

It could not "be any of us" unless you violate the SAFE act. The charges were no trumped up to "get somebody".
If you are careless enough not to be aware of the laws governing guns in the second most anti-gun state in the nation then when you are arrested you should not be made a hero. To do so diminishes the real issues that should be funded to produce court challenges that have a chance of success.
You might note that no pro gun organization or the legal team that won Heller is rushing to fund the defense of this guy. No point in wasting scarce money on a 100% lost cause.
If you're contributing to this guy's lawyer new Lexus and are not, at minimum, an NRA Life Member, you're an enemy, not a friend of those of us who support reining in an overarching government and the bureaucratic pals.

Come on site staff,
This guy is here for one reason and one reason only and that is to create trouble.
It's so obvious by now.
It has nothing to do with a difference in opinion
It has everything to do with creating havoc on this forum
Drop the hammer already!

It's kinds funny, Bigfoot. He's obviously desperate for attention. Unless he's a God I sure don't feel reduced lol. Oh wait, still wouldn't matter.
I bet he would have registered his AR or AK to comply with UnSafe, if he had one. Total submission to his overlords.
Nothing he says matter to me so fuck him. I'd much rather waste 100 posts arguing with Willy some more on a subject we disagree on, at least we are courteous to each other and I'd still buy him a beer.

I don't like to use the ignore setting.
I think that is a good idea to confront jerk offs like this guy.
But in this case, I will take your recommendation... (click)

When the nazis forced jews from their home at gunpoint, confiscated Jewish property, deported them it was done legally. Under color of law.
How do you obtain justice in a corrupt system?
We still have a chance, but the window is closing.

LOL, he said "contribute to the NRA if you want to fight."
I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while.
I'd love to see what he thinks would make a *better* case than this to take magazine bans to SCOTUS with.

Exiting a thread on Tuesday and still managed to post in same thread last night?
Our definitions of exit are different or somebody is as fickle as a 14 year old girl.

that's what trolls do. everyone is wrong except the troll, declare they are above it all after arguing for pages and pages, claim victory and claim they are leaving, only to come back page after page to argue.

And yet nothing gets solved! No one sees the other side of the coin. "We're" dead fast set in our own opinions and no one else's point/argument is given the slightest amount of consideration. This and other posts have rambled on and on, doing nothing but turning into a pissing contest. It's a gray world, but some issues are clear black and white. Or if you'd like, Point of Law. One's feelings don't change a law, even if it completely wrong. Change is brought about by actions.
The sensational statement of this person being a Veteran makes not one difference to the circumstances. His being a Security Guard might, as he should be aware of the law(s). Anyone else who finds themselves in a similar situation will be fighting the same battle. Posts on a web site will do nothing to correct a wrong that so many of us could be subject to.

Because this is a gun forum. And this is what happens on gun forums.
"Glocks are shit"
"Glocks are the best thing since sliced bread"
"If you don't carry a 1911, you're not a man"
"9mm will kill you, but .45 will kill your soul"
"If you don't carry something that starts with a 4, you might as well carry a BB gun"
etc. etc. etc.

@Day444 , are you saying you agree with him that we should get prosecuted for unjust laws?
Because that is all that he is saying over and over.
Because that is all that he is saying over and over.
Spat as I figured is an NRA hater. W/O the NRA we would be where England is today.
As for the rent-a-cop case it IS NOT worthy of a SCOTUS challenge. Heller WAS because the plantiff had not violated the law, been charged, indicted and convicted.
I suggest Spat put together a legal team and funding to challenge the law w/o becoming a criminal first.
Of course he won't as all he like to do is whine on a blog.
