I'm all for a nice big wall around every big city ..
I have never been in law enforcement but can someone tell me why a group of US Marshals need to draw guns on 66 year old woman who they (mistakenly) believed skipped bail 25 years ago?

Was there no other way to handle this situation? It turns out the moron didn't even have the right person. Here was the probable cause:
"She was thrown in federal prison for a night, but was sprung the next day after prosecutors presented little evidence beyond “Facebook posts” that a probation office in Oklahoma thought indicated she was really Rozak living under an alias."
Facebook posts can now be used as evidence to arrest people? WTF.
Shocking video shows Ariz. grandma falsely arrested by US Marshals at gunpoint: ‘I felt like I was being kidnapped’
“I truly felt like I was being kidnapped. I am so disappointed in my goverenment,” Penny McCarthy, 66, seethed.

That is why I don't like the government involved with what they see on the Internet and accusing people. On the same lines of what NYS wanted to do with social media/forums for pistol permits.
An excellent Rogan interview. Like all his podcasts this one is long (3+ hours) but it is one I would say everyone should watch. If you want to get a better understanding of how the government grew into a censorship regime this podcast will explain it. I'm almost in shock after watching it, and I am a pretty cynical person. The short version: The american intelligence community has multiple agencies (all funded by US taxes) that now believe populism and its adherents are the greatest threat to not just this nation but the entire world order. That IS NOT an exaggeration. They honestly believe it and are actively fighting it.
Every mainstream media outlet has essentially been co-opted by the government. Which is why they are cracking down on social media which is outside of their control.

In a situation like this, when you know you are 100% innocent... Push buttons. Take the pepper spray or the taze.... The lawsuit is that much larger.
Wait...I thought the ongoing suggestion was to "just comply so you don't get shot" when the cops are wrongly arresting you.
Not surprised at all.

Ask the Governor of New Mexico how that worked out for her; gained National Attention with rejection, and considering how unpopular the Second is with Democrats, even they back-pedaled her ass.
Depressing to say the least. The incoming Trump administration believes the surveillance state should be maintained. There only change is it should be run by the right people and have tiers of people who are not subject to it.

Unfortunately, The Trump Cabinet Will Likely Expand the Surveillance State - The Last Refuge
The surveillance state is an outcropping of the Fourth Branch of Government, which is, essentially, the unelected intelligence community in control of our government. The surveillance state comes from the creation of the Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) which is an entirely inward-looking agency...

We all make mistakes, the part where we learn from those mistakes is called accountability, and when Officers/Agents/Administrators are not held to account or face repercussions, then there will be a failure to learn, and more will result.I have never been in law enforcement but can someone tell me why a group of US Marshals need to draw guns on 66 year old woman who they (mistakenly) believed skipped bail 25 years ago?

Guns drawn, doors kicked, full blown attacks...:Thou shalt not deviate from thy training, nor shall yea think for thyself, only the Masters orders are to be obeyed...everyone must be made to feel the force of our will; this goes back to accountability and so long as SOP was followed, then no one will be admonished for "doing their job" because it was done by the Book.
This very sort of heavy handed, "so we made a mistake, tough shit" we're not paying for your Door even though WE got the wrong House, is part of the reason why the People no longer trust the Cops, and I suspect had relevance in initiatives such as Bail Reform (processing of arrests, evidence, time constraints, et.al) Once we were a Country of Innocent until proved guilty, and setting free a dozen guilty before falsely imprisoning one innocent, but people more interested in furthering their careers with convictions, using the power granted for personal reasons, and back to that accountability thing have proved once again 'absolute power corrupt absolutely.

Ammo Checks AND serial number, model, type of fire arms being transferred to people verified to NOT be prohibited people (FAOPA violation) by State.
Over use of State Controlled militia (Medical support during COVID, Policing support from State lack of law enforcement) for civil services due to State policy and mandates.
Forcing State agenda by imposing stricter inspection requirements designed to force vehicles off the road. Not due to safety, but due to not bending to Green Agenda. So functioning work vehicles, not passing because Green agenda (Not any proof of concept by the way) is not being met.
Forcing over cost for building and remodeling by forcing State agenda Electric only agenda without resourcing (not enough power creation or distribution)
Pushing City priorities on all even when not applicable or facilitated in rural areas of the same state.
Pushing one industry out of NYS (Fire Arms, Petroleum) because of agenda, not law or cause or affect, or by popular vote. (Discrimination)
Perpetuating unfair voting practices by allowing high density social hubs (cities) to dominate political policy. (Loss of voice, discrimination, lack of Electoral college balance)
All of the business practices pushed by NYS which have lost so many businesses, vacated property, which the State takes (But does not pay tax on). [Every area in NYS is having this happen, take a drive around and see the boarded up properties abandoned and taken over by the State/ Municipality]
Over reach and application of State agenda in every school and contributed to by the Union.

Why do all these rich technology assholes want constant 24/7 surveillance of the US population? My guess is whatever AI system is implemented (especially his) will somehow exempt him from 24/7 surveillance.
This is one of the warnings from the site conservative treehouse. Trump is not going to gut the surveillance state. Instead the "right people" will be in charge of it and certain people (i.e. rich technocrats) will somehow be exempt from the surveillance the rest of us face. Disappointing, disheartening and infuriating.

It's not clear that Trump will be able to change the intrusive nature of the surveillance/police state. Tulsi gabbard had to reverse her position on warrantless surveillance (FISA 702 pre-authorization) in order to have a chance of being confirmed. So it is clear a majority of Republicans in the Senate are just fine with government intrusion into every aspect of our lives in violation of the 4th amendment.

Remember back a few years ago when the intelligence agencies were outraged that apple wouldn't help them crack the security of a terrorist Iphone? Have you noticed how the intelligence agencies don't seem to be commenting that much anymore? There is a reason. The AI enabled version of the Iphone 16 now allows apple (and therefore the US govt) to know everything that is on your phone - photos, text messages, calls, online viewing history. The key is the AI on your phone takes a snapshot of your screen every x number of seconds and communicates with apple HQ when a request to find certain things is made. It is constant surveillance and it defeats any type of encryption app you have on your phone.
This guy does a good job of explaining it. The short answer is we will become even more of a surveillance state than we are now in a very short period of time. Ahh....democracy!
We are so screwed.

And this is the exact same procedure Micro$oft is pushing into Windows 11.
The best method to defeat encryption is to have an undercover operative installed at a point BEFORE that encryption even begins.

As they used to say in the show "laugh in" Very Interesting. The UK government has issued an order to Apple telling it to allow officials full access to any iCloud content belonging to any user across the globe. Given that the UK & US government are part of the "five eyes" intelligence sharing agreement this effectively means the US government will have full access. I would not be surprised if the US asked the UK to initiate the process since it is politically less palatable here in the US.

Further confirmation of the huge censorship effort by the US government against any citizen that dared defy the official narrative on COVID. USAID conspired with the global engagement center (GEC) and the British government to actively seek out and censor those promoting "disinformation" about the virus or the vaccine.
