Waltz took responsibility because it was *his* staffer.
Why would Waltz even have this editor in his address book ? They golfing buddies or something ?

DEVELOPING: Was Mike Waltz a Source for Jeffrey Goldberg While Serving on House Intel Committee? * The Gateway Pundit * by Cristina Laila
In a revealing turn of events, Mike Waltz faces scrutiny over his connections with journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, raising questions about transparency and trust…

DEVELOPING: Was Mike Waltz a Source for Jeffrey Goldberg While Serving on House Intel Committee?
Did Mike Waltz’s top deputy Alex Wong add Jeffrey Goldberg to Waltz’s contact list and add him to the Signal group?A screenshot of the Signal group clearly shows Mike Waltz added Jeffrey Goldberg to the “Houthi PC small group.”
According to investigative reporter Paul Sperry, Mike Waltz was a source for Jeffrey Goldberg while he was serving on the House Intel Committee.
Per Paul Sperry: Though Waltz insists, “I wasn’t talking to [Goldberg],” a US intel official told me Waltz was a source for Goldberg while on HPSCI. “There’s no need for an investigation to figure out how he was added to the chat.Goldberg was in his address book b/c he’s been talking to him”
Not exactly full of pertinent details, unless you happen to know who "Target Terrorist" is and where they live. Here's a pretty damning one, IMO. Note that this is before the strikes occurred...
Interesting timeline, though. Once the bombs drop you'll have a 1.5 hour radius for the location of where the F-18s launched from.
If you know the cruising speed of a loaded F-18 that would narrow down the source to only a few thousand square miles. Very dangerous info!
Anyone have the full conversation to post yet?

Is it a fuck up? Yes.
Did it disclose classified info? No.
Is the left trying to make a bigger deal of it than it is? Yes.
Should people be held to account? Yes.
Dont be like the left and make it out to be something bigger than it is, be a free thinker.

This ^^^ As usual it’s easy to set some pants on fire.
It’s not like they were banging Fang Fang or using a server in their bathroom for actual secret shit.
Is it a concern someone in that circle had that snowflakes # in their phone yes, but that’s about it.
I have no inside knowledge, but this whole scenario seems off to me. I have a hunch that the reporter was added to the conversation by some staffer that isn't on board the Trump train. The deep state strikes again. One more attempt to derail the administration and cause havoc.

It’s a hoax. It didn’t happen. Just another deep state witch hunt.

I just don't think you guys get it. We don't get to determine the value of classified info. If it's classified, it's classified. Period. And this information most certainly was.
I have seen white images full of static that were classified. Nothing to be discerned from the images, they were truly just static noise. If I'd transmitted them over a cell phone app, I'd be in prison.
There's no valid reason that I should have to live by one set of rules and Hegseth et. al. should live by another. You guys are blinded by party/political loyalty. As someone pointed out earlier, if this were the Biden admin, many here would be up in arms.
If you think the rules are stupid - which, a lot of times, they are - then change the rules. Don't exempt select people from them.

There were no “war plans” because there’s no declared war, so that makes a breach of national security ok. Witch hunt. Hoax. Alternative facts. Hit piece. Lamestream media. Nothing to see here. Nothing happened. Hey, look- new tariffs!JUST IN: The Atlantic Backtracks On ‘War Plans’ Hit Piece

I thought privatization was a good thing?
Interesting. Hopefully they are checking to see if there has been any contact between this guy and Goldberg.

But, signal *was* an officially approved secure communication method.
The fact that someone added this douchebag into the chat is the breach, not that the rest of them were using it.

It is, generally.
And this wasn't a failure of signal itself. It wasn't hacked or anything.
So, the scandal is that this guy got added to the chat, but the media seems to be trying to make it about the administration using Signal for the conversation.
The investigation should be about how he got added and by who, and why. It's possible it's an honest error, but it doesn't smell like it.
And if it *was* an honest error, then that suggests the flaw in the system is the one that makes it too easy to make that error.
So, either the NSA needs to spin it their own version of the app, or someone needs to pay the Signal folks to customize a version that is more resistant to that sort of problem.
Or, just get Signal to fix the user interface flaw for everyone.
But, that's assuming it wasn't done on purpose. If it was, then the app is fine, and people were using it fine, you just need to root out the spies better.

There you go again with some common sense
This is already a 100% known, at least the who part. You'd have to get them to explain why they did it.
It's the line directly below "yesterday".
Its the hard screencap of the chat. Not sure why everyone is trying to "figure out who added him" when its clearly displayed in the information release.

That tells you what account added him, not what person.
Or do you think Biden was personally sending out all the tweets with his name on them ?
Hell, he wasn't even signing all the laws and pardons with his signature on them.
There's at least even odds that Waltz told Wong to set this up and he is the one who posted that.
How many Michael Waltz's are in that chat? Just him. He confirmed that was him.
Tweets aren't signal chats. They're much closer to group text messages than tweets. None of these people have their aides holding their phone and texting on their behalf.
Biden sucked. I think we agree there. However what Biden did or did not do in signing laws is irrelevant and unrelated to the proper chain of custody in handling the type of information discussed in the signal chat in question.
Wong didn't invite him into the chat group. Waltz did. If it's a setup then Wong also was somehow controlling everyone else's device too? The person who posted it is the Atlantic reporter, not Wong. It's on their website and is from the reporters device (the phone screenshots).

It was Mike Waltz's account for sure.
But was he the actual human that used that account to make that chat ?
I've known guys who didn't send *any* of their own emails. They would tell a secretary to send something and the secretary would compose and send it using their boss's address.
It wouldn't be unsurprising at all for Waltz to tell Wong to set this thing up and for Wong to use Walt's account to do it.
But, regardless of which of them did it, the only real problem here was adding the douchebag. If it was intentional, then someone needs serious consequences. If it wasn't intentional, then they need some serious counseling, and the app needs modification to make that less likely.
But the media are all clutching their pearls about how irresponsible it was to have that conversation on Signal at all, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It was explicitly approved for that sort of communication, and has been for years.
Every thing every day until they get back in power.
There is a deep cancer in this country, it will fight back until it is completely cut out.
The Trump administration needs to be on guard and a little less transparent.

I used signal for a family chat group as my asshole brother is some kind of security geek but his autism gets in the way of ever being smart.
Groups have the originator as an admin and can set other member to admin to allow people to let others join.
Seems when a family member gets another new device or changed their device there was security warnings to the group.
Then is every member does not go to every other member and verify them, there would be some who do not see the group messages like we are ignoring them.
My sister would get pretty pissed on this.
You supposed to verify face to face but you could blindly trust. I generally ask a question like what was out dogs name in 1964 and expect the right answer. Then they get verified.
Some one hacked a phone.

You all have fallen for it..........blame Trump.
The NSC inherited the BIDEN NSC communications system, and Bidens team, had surreptitiously included holes in the system, to spy on what Trump was up to...........nobody caught it, as the administration is still getting set up, and the system has likely been wide open to the Atlantic for years.
OTHER SPY SOFTWARE IS LIKELY IN THE INTEL SYSTEM...........CCP PROVIDED.
As Musk said the entire computer systems are obsolete........PLANNED THAT WAY TO DEFEAT AUDITS.
