Unfortunately, some of us are constrained by elderly parents that need care and have no intention or are physically unable of leaving their homes. Some of us have kids that live in this state with grandchildren that you want to be part of your life. Some of us have wives that refuse to give up their homes or their secret boyfriends from high school that they think we don't know about. Some of us have careers that at this point in our work lives do not want to give up. Some of us couldn't deal with the though of not being able to buy Zweigle's white hots. I'm sure there are more reasons...
All of those reasons are completely valid. I do get it. I really miss Mighty Taco.
It was difficult walking away from my profession. Hard to walk away from the kind of money I was bringing home.
Leaving friends was very, very difficult.
Leaving the two older sons up in that hellhole was heart-breaking to my wife. Hoping they will join us here sooner than later.
As for parents, my dad is long passed and my mom moved out of NY many years ago.
I never mean to say that the moving out of that shit hole is easy....

SCOTUS has already ruled on the states rights part of that.
And the legislators can pass what they want, SCOTUS's ruling is specifically about the enforcement of the law. Continuing to enforce it is contempt.
There are lots of blatantly unconstitutional laws still on the books, but SCOTUS has ruled that you can't enforce them, and as long as the executive branch doesn't try, then all is well.
In theory SCOTUS could hold any police officer or district attorney who attempts to enforce one of those laws in contempt top. They won't, but they could.
How long do you think that law would last after the 1st cop went to prison for make an unlawful arrest over it.
