Whe he loses, I want them to pretend to make him Secretary of State and send him to have fake negotiations with countries that don't matter and record it.
"Hey Joe, you're Secretary of State for President Kamala Harris. Your first assignment is to go to Kyrgyzstan and negotiate a new trade deal...
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but can he get his license, including the full carry, in Putnam then move to Westchester and transfer over his restricted license? Or do they slap restrictions on your license when you move to Westchester and transfer your license?
Regardless, I vote Putnam. I...
You can bet your ass the BATFE will take a very special interest in the goings on in that county if that law is passed. I also doubt the local sheriff will be sticking his and his department's neck out to stop ATF agents coming to make arrests on big time federal charges. Maybe if they did, that...
Pissing at a urinal never really bothered me belt carrying at 3, but yea, dropping a deuce is for sure a PITA with a belt holster, especially with stalls that lets others see your dropped trousers.
The man made two communists into good communists and improved the third one a bit. Anyone know of any Go Fund Me or something like that to help support his legal fees?
Just because it's new, for the hell of it, I've been carrying my S&W 629 IWB in my Simply Rugged holster. I'm 5'7", 190 lbs and it doesn't print carried at 3. Definitely getting a bigger, but thin autoloader for EDC. Actually really considering an 8 rd S&W 627 with a 3" barrel and a red dot now...
I'm not coming at you with pride or feelings. I'd love for it to mean what you think it means. Based on the words and the words alone, which we've both read, I don't think that you won't get arrested and charged with a crime if open carrying in a gun-unfriendly NY jurisdiction.
Now, you can be...
Man, have a good night. I have no intention to open carry. The discussion ran its course and I seriously doubt you plan to come down to Westchester and walk around Mamaroneck Ave in White Plains while open carrying until you find out what part of the statute they'll slap you with misdemeanor...
Sure, and when the Second Amendment was written, it protected citizens from the government trying to restrict their ability to buy a ship and stick all the cannons he wanted on it. Try and buy a fully armed and functional cruiser today. The point is that in the wrong context, it won't matter...
You're reading 400(15) there. Read 400(17), which is the same section that you correctly had in your head when you told me that once licensed, 400 protects you from 265.
The problem is that the requirement to carry concealed does seem to explicitly exist somewhere in the law. The license (f) in question specifies to carry "concealed" while another statutory license (g) allows one to "carry" without the modifier "concealed". Based on the previous post, you seem...
OK, then what statute can you be charged under if you carry in violation of the conditions in which you were issued a license under 400? If not 265, then I have no clue.
To "have" and "possess" don't mean the same thing as you rightly point out. But by the same logic, to "have" and to "carry"...
Working backwards – I didn't assert anything about printing. I honestly doubt printing can get you in much legal trouble as long as you're obviously making an effort to conceal it. I can imagine printing badly enough that a cop could argue it's no longer concealed, but it doesn't seem to me like...
In my search, I found some free legal advice from actual attorneys. I'm sure they've taken all relevant laws into account before publishing this advice since any errors in their interpretation could open them up to liability.

I wonder if there's any case law that shows someone otherwise licensed caught up printing or openly carrying in NY. I would be curious to see what crime that person was charged with.
I currently agree with Marine Cpl in that the law as written seems to me to outlaw all carry except licensed...
Gotta love that the surviving burglars get charged with murder too because their buddy died in the act. That law is icing on the cake and a cherry on top.
That's really cool of them and really above and beyond. Plenty of companies will get your gun like new for you, but it would cost you. Depending on the condition, I know a Kimber could be refreshed for under $200 for a full checkup that will automatically come with replacement of small parts...
Honestly, Glock's reliability comes from the design as much as anything. The mechanisms are simple, the parts are few and simple, and the tolerances are generous without being sloppy. Unless the Georgia plant were really a shitshow, it would be hard to consistently make unreliable ones.
That...
He's always done it too, but now that his shitty opinions are taking the forefront over his out-of-left-field gun content, I lost interest. I'm still not opposed to watching if he shows some cool revolver, 1911, or Beretta, but I don't need a month worth of his blabbering vids clogging my feed...
+1 for a hatchet for your uses. A machete and hatchet are really different tools with some overlap. A small machete overlaps more with a hatchet. Machetes are great for things like chopping vines, shrubs, branches, etc., cutting down sugar cane and bamboo, opening coconuts, and I'd much prefer...
Some of his older videos have some good info, specifically his revolver content, but I've unsubscribed from him with all the BS he's been putting out recently.
Adirondack Indoor Gun Range by the southern tip of Lake George is open. Pretty nice place. The fees are very reasonable and they have a better ammo supply than anything I've seen in Westchester recently. It's a 25 yard range. Nothing flashy with the lanes, just a target in/out switch. Clean...
Guess all we need are single-shots then. Screw it, only smooth-bore, flintlock muzzleloaders. It's gonna be really inconvenient when I strap on 4 flintlock pistols and a couple of wheellocks before I leave in the morning in case I encounter a gang of angry and violent deer that need hunting.
Never looked into the twist rate effect on velocity, so I can't say. The only time I've paid attention to twist rate is in buying an AR because I wanted to get the same rate as the M16 & M4 use. Not for any special reason, mind you, just because at the time I wanted it to be as similar as...
On Hodgdon's website, if you look under pistol data instead of rifle, they have load data for .223 tested from a 15" barrel. It's a 1:12 twist rate (who picks these stupid test barrels?), but velocity should be closer to what you'd get in a 16" carbine than the rifle data from a 24" test barrel.
Thanks to all the advice. For anyone interested, here are some of my groups from the ammo I loaded. 200 grain Nosler JHP loaded with between 13.5-14.1 grains of Longshot. Not very impressive accuracy out of me, but I'm still getting used to the gun. I'm very happy with the pistol's mechanical...
Found the reference, fyi and for anyone who's interested. Circled in red in the attached picture from the DEC website and here's the link (under the muzzleloader section): Deer and Bear Hunting Regulations
I didn't say that at all. You can definitely hunt with a .44 cal BP revolver during any time when you can hunt or have a regular handgun afield with you. Based on last year's regs, you can't hunt with or have one afield during muzzleloader season, specifically, because the DEC treats black...
Black powder (cap and ball) revolvers are not legal to use during muzzleloader hunting season. I checked the regs last year, so unless they changed things this year, they're treated the same as any cartridge loaded, smokeless handgun.
As far as a revolving cylinder carbine, that's a really good...
6½ weeks later, here's my 629 Classic 5", at home where she belongs.
With all that time, I managed to get my aftermarket grips, holster, reloading dies, components, and load up 200 rounds of ammo + 6 snap caps before it got here.
The holster is a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake.
It fits my...
I worked for Kimber for a little bit. The Stainless Raptor series was always my favorite. I always preferred stainless because I didn't like their black finish or any of the lightweight frames. And the raptor just has that sweet design with those awesome grips.
Enjoy!
Don't apologize for the long post, the info is gold. What's the deal with weather in your experience? Are rainy days a bust or good hunting? Or after a rainy day? Then what about snow later in the season?
That's another thing. With my rifle, I've passed on a few shots where the squirrel has been on a tree branch silhouetted against the sky. Since I already don't see many when I'm out looking, that's accounted for a lot of missed chances. Of the couple I shot, one was on a log with my backstop...
