I'm a member of an "Interdiction" group on Facebook run by and mostly filled with NJ cops. They talk about confiscating money all the time (how to, when to, best practices, etc). In my 15 years on the job prior to joining this group, I had never heard of "civil forfeiture". We don't do it here...
