If it blocks any part of the normal light, I'd pass. While it may look pretty cool, it looks like it blocks some of the light as well. If you get rear-ended, the other driver has a decent excuse that he couldn't see you as well as he was supposed to. It's more of a CYA type of thing.

DAs may not pass laws, but they do take some discretion when prosecuting them, just like when LEO issue tickets. Sounds like a cop out to me.
