Thoughts on why?
Somewhat frustrating that they as well as GOA wound up here. I would think this wasn't their first rodeo in court. It appears they could have handled things differently, no?Looks like they are getting ahead of the game, and I'm guessing their plantiff didn't have standing.
I know NY filing, NY claimed the Plantiff didn't have standing because he could still buy the 2 AR15s he wanted

Oh I agree with you. I'm just questioning their inability from the get go to be prepared with things that in hind sight seem elementary.Does this suck. Absolutely, is it the end like most on this forum want everyone else to believe, nope.
Rather cut and run at the start, so you can come back and be better prepared. Instead of getting deep in the woods and then realizing oh shit we need to start over in a year
If a law violates the constitution then every American should have standing automatically.Interesting videos. So the judge rules the plaintiff had no standing and throws the case out, but not before going on at length how the new law is unconstitutional. The first video is quite positive, the second one less so. The mental gymnastics used by the judge to dismiss the case seem pretty weak to me, and it could just be the fact he was a coward that didn't want to be the first to strike down the law. But then why go through all the trouble later in the decision going on at length about how unconstitutional the law was? Something is not adding up. I suspect the law will eventually be overturned but we will have to live with it for quite some time as the legal gamesmanship plays out. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel but it's a long goddam tunnel.
But since we live in "the greatest progressive state," we'll be the last to ever get any relief. We will see.
Granted this is just NY. California is less than 60 days until the federal court shuts down their AWB a 2nd time.
Maryland AWB is also on its last leg before being destroyed..
The two towns in Colorado are already taking L's.
But since we live in "the greatest progressive state," we'll be the last to ever get any relief.
I hope that my kids watch the political wranglings and illicit un-American machinations in New York politics from another state. Hopefully, one where the U.S. Constitution is still the law of the land.Maybe, but I'd rather play the long game and win, if that means nothing changes for me, but my children are guaranteed their rights, and my grandchildren, well thats still a win for me.
You need to watch the second video.why they had no standing .. i think is because the law they were fighting was not in effect yet and some other issues
and yet the judge then laid out in the 70 plus pages on how to go back and fight it ..
sometimes you need to watch a 37 min video![]()
It's ironic, isn't it. We live in the state that took this to the Supreme Court and succeeded. Yet we are the only state in worse shape than before the ruling. But since we live in "the greatest progressive state," we'll be the last to ever get any relief
Seems like Paladino loses a primary (as usual) and says screw NYers and the Second Amendment. Got it.
Proves my vote was right. He shows us with this that he was not the right man, so obvious he did the lawsuit for his own political gain!View attachment 173061
"Meanwhile, Buffalo developer Carl Paladino has directed his attorney to stop moving forward with a lawsuit he filed largely focusing on the business component. Paladino, who filed prior to losing a congressional primary, said it's a "no-brainer" the law is unconstitutional there are other similar actions across the state.
"Let someone else fund it," Paladino said.
However, he said the chief reason was to not let NYRPA and King, who he called "self-serving" and "parasitic," benefit from his action. NYSRPA endorsed Paladino's opponent in the primary."

Good. Glad to see it. Now we have to win it.
