Again, I go far beyond armed security.
I am for mass segregation of our schools and everything else in society. My segregation goes far beyond all the usual types.

But we don't need to do that.
We were fine without even locking any doors when I was a kid. (Literally, the school I went to had about 50 different entrance/exits, and most were *never* locked)
We need to remove the dangerous elements from society, not try to defend every place in the country from them.
If you need metal detectors and security at every school, then you need them at every public building, from the grocery store to the hospital.
That is a shitty society. Fix the fucking root problem. Quit trying to band aid it with pointless security.
If they *had* that stuff at this school, the kid would have shot the guard by surprise first, then walked through the metal detector without giving a fuck.

There are different levels of education, and different environments appropriate for everyone.
I think basic literacy, civics and at least arithmetic are necessary for everyone who will participate in society. If you can't meet that, then you're not an adult no matter how old you are. If you have to be institutionalized then that's what happens.
Some people (generally with terrible parenting) cannot function in a normal school environment. It's unfair to everyone to try and put them there.
Special schools for special people.
One generation of proper schooling and I think we can unfuck most of our society.

I get that man. Sorry for this struggle. Forgiving someone can be tough. You can forgive a person and not accept their behavior or have contact with them. Took me many years to forgive someone that repeatedly made my life difficult. I think oftentimes people equate forgiveness with accepting their behavior or the person.
I truly hope you find peace in this situation at some point. You seem like a great guy!!

Theres no need. Can have a couple guards in street clothes that just blend in. The fastest way to stop a school shooting is to prevent it. The vast majority of them swallow a bullet the moment armed resistance arrives. Have it there to start with and the cowards dont even try it.
Not to mention our society has gone soft. We are not willing ro remove the crazies and dangerous criminals anymore to let us normies live in peace. Fix the root cause and the schools wont need security.
